Listen to Classical Music in Vienna

Vienna is aptly referred to as the capital of classical music. It is not only the birthplace of Operetta and Waltz but also the home ground of a lot of musicians and composers as well. Classical Music in Vienna consists of a variety of musical practices. Theatre performances, operas and concerts have become a part and parcel of the Viennese culture and even today the lively streets of Vienna resonate with the melodies of Classical music. Some of the places that host classical music in Vienna are as follows:

Concert by Royal Orchestra

The Royal Orchestra of Vienna is very much skilled in combining both entertainment and art and presenting pure classical music. The entire team of Royal Orchestra comprises of top musicians from different leading orchestras like Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, and Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra. The true blending of solo performance, ballet dance and solo dance make the concert an exclusive one for the audiences. The classical masterpieces composed by singers like Joseph Lanner, Beethoven, Joseph Haydn, Johann Strauss and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, are interpreted in the concerts of Vienna Royal Orchestra.

Concert by Vienna Hofburg Orchestra

The Vienna Hofburg Orchestra presents before the audience exclusive classical music. There are many international solo vocalists in Vienna Hofburg Orchestra who deliver the classical interpretations of the famous Mozart and Johann Strauss. It is believed that the music of Vienna Waltz and Strauss dynasty has helped in reshaping the City of Music since the late 19th century. This Orchestra was formed in the year 1971 and the real man behind it was Gert Hofbauer. The ultimate aim of this orchestra is to deliver the classical masterpieces of eminent personalities to the entire world.

Mozart Requiem

The Mozart Requiem is performed at the St. Charles Church every year between the month of April and October. Every year this show is conducted as a memorial service to Mozart, who had breathed  his last, only a few meters away from the church. The concert is performed by the well-known soloists and choir of the famous Salzburg Concert Society and Orchestra 1756. The entire event becomes a memorable one for the audiences because of the performance of a large number of musicians on stage and historical instruments that are being played.

Schoenbrunn Palace Concerts

The Schoenbrunn Palace Orchestra has emerged as a prominent group since the year 1997. Gradually they started to represent the rich, cultural music life of Vienna. Every year they deliver classical music of Mozart and Strauss before the audiences at the Schoenbrunn Palace Orangery. The entire orchestra comprises of two prominent opera singers, a baritone, a soprano and attractive ballet dancers in actual costumes. All the members of the orchestra are really very talented, young, highly qualified and dedicated to classical music as well.
