We boarded the flight from Bangalore at 5 am and reached Mauritius by 1 pm. We arrived on the first day and exchanged the currency conveniently at the airport. The hotel representative was already waiting to receive us and transferred us to the Anelia Resort via cab and at that moment, Mauritius had us awe-struck in no time.

In the evening, we once again enjoyed and looked forward to the traditional dance performances of various kinds at the hotel. The surprise element to this night was that my wife Richa also joined the dancers. Our evenings at the beach were just out of this world.

The North tour of Mauritius was booked on the fourth day for us. We started out in the morning to enjoy the lively vibes of Bagatelle Mall. We indulged in some shopping at this majestic setting and relished some Mediterranean cuisine before heading towards Citadelle de Port Louis which is located close by to the mall. This rock fort literally took us back in time.

The Day When I Sang And Mauritius Stood Still!
The next two days were filled with too much fun. We had whole two days to ourselves. The fifth day we got engrossed in the water activities offered by the resort. We enjoyed the boat rides across the white sandy beaches of Mauritius.
In the evening we went for the dinner and I participated in the karaoke night. My wife was quite surprised as I sang “When you say nothing at all” by Ronan Keating. My long practice sessions finally found a purpose when my wife enjoyed the performance to the core.

On the sixth day we skipped the optional tour in our package and rested well as we had to leave the next day. We enjoyed a laid back afternoon in the infinity pool and the beach area. In the evening, we were speechless with the setting of the most romantic candlelit dinner ever. Apart from this, the sega dance performance which is the folk dance of Mauritius was also mesmerizing enough to wind up the night.

Finally our seventh and last day had arrived in the stunning island nation of Mauritius. We had to board our flight at 9 pm but since there was no rush from the hotel’s side, we checked out at 12 noon and went on to explore a bit of Flic-En-Flac (free and flat) area post lunch. We were transferred to the airport at about 5 pm and we set on our journey back to India.
