My wife and I were looking for a relaxing international holiday at a beautiful scenic place! Living in South India, we found out that Maldives was a convenient option for us since it wasn’t that far and was also a tropical paradise!

Day 1: Experiencing the charm of Maldives
We boarded our flight from Chennai and landed at the Male Airport after about 2 hours. At the airport, we met the travel agent’s representative who transferred us to the Sun Island Resort via a speed boat.
Sun Island Resort is a beautiful property and had a very pleasant vibe to it. We were welcomed warmly and post some refreshments, were taken to our beach facing room.
Both my wife and I loved this room since it offered us a wonderful view of the ocean. The climate in Maldives kept on changing throughout the trip but only for better and this day too, it was windy and cool.
So after check in, we rested for a while and in the evening went around exploring the island and the property. Later on, we went for dinner post which we attended an entertainment show organized by the hotel.
Finally, tired and happy, we called it a night.

Day 2: Soaking in the goodness of island resort
This day, we got up early in the morning and went to the beach. We took a walk and then sat there for a while to witness the beautiful sunrise over the ocean. Later on post breakfast, we took a bicycle and went around roaming the island resort on our own.
In the evening, we went to see the ‘shark feeding’ and it was a fascinating experience. The sharks and fishes being fed were small but we were told that there was a place on the resort where big sharks were also fed.
Dinner was again a delicious affair and later on we even went and saw a local culture entertainment show. It was an interesting experience post which we retired for the night.
Day 3: Welcome to the water villa
This was another fun day for us. We once again got up really early in the morning and witnessed a magnificent sunrise overlooking the ocean. It was very beautiful and watching it was really peaceful and rejuvenating. Next up was the Yoga session which was way too good and relaxing. Post this we did our breakfast and were then shifted to a new kind of room – the water villa.
The water villa was beautiful and was surrounded by crystal clear blue waters with little fishes. We rested in this room for a while and then proceeded on to roam around the property on our own and visit some parks that it had. There was a place where one could play games like ping pong and we really enjoyed our time here.
Later on, we proceeded for a sumptuous dinner post which we went to watch the ‘shark feeding’ again. The only difference between the previous time and now was that this time, the sharks were really big and more interesting.
Day 4: A birthday celebration overlooking the ocean
We got up at our own pace today and post breakfast got ready and went to visit the unexplored parts of the island. It was a very relaxing experience and we were in love with the amazing views that the island offered. And although the weather change here was very frequent, it was all for better. There was cool breeze flowing throughout the day and our mood was uplifted instantly by the pleasant weather.
Also, today was my wife’s birthday and in the evening we also had a little cake cutting ceremony for her at the water villa.
Post this, we once again ventured out on our own. This time, we discovered a place that had a lot of swings where one could sit and relax and we did just that. We sat here for quite a long time before proceeding on for dinner.
Later on after an early dinner, we went to a nearby sandy beach where waters from all the three sides of the island converged. This was a beautiful site and we loved how the crystal clear waters formed foamy ripples as it went on mixing with each other.

Day 5: Maldives, you will be missed!
This was our last day and we got up early to have breakfast and bid farewell to the bliss that was Maldives.
Later, we checked out of the resort and were transferred to the Male airport for our flight back to India.
Maldives was a peaceful, rejuvenating, and a surreal experience for us. We had never seen such scenic beauty in our life and in the end, were glad to have witnessed it in Maldives. There were a lot of special moments for us on this trip and we would always cherish them!
