Although I have been to Jim Corbett many times, but this time, it was special.

We were traveling with our family (three couples) and like all family vacations, we knew, we were going to have more fun than expected and that is exactly what happened.

It was a long Holi weekend and we wanted to go on a short road trip which was neither too far nor too near. Fortunately for us, Jim Corbett turned out to be the just the destination we were looking for.

For our stays and sightseeing in Jim Corbett, we chose TravelTriangle, an online travel agency (OTA), who offered us customized tour packages. Day 1: Time to relax and chill at the resort!

We took our car to Jim Corbett and there were two vehicles. We left Delhi at around 6 am in the morning and approximately 6 hours later, had reached our destination. The road trip from Delhi to Jim Corbett was a smooth and enjoyable one and we did not feel much fatigue after the six hour drive.

Our resort in Jim Corbett was called Maya Resort and it was a great property. There was a swimming pool, lush green gardens, and an overall natural charm that was ever so perfect for us.

Post our welcome drinks, we were allocated our rooms where we freshened up and proceeded for the Jeep Jungle Safari which was preponed. However due to some miscommunication, we got delayed, and had to reschedule the safari for the next day.

We spent the rest of the evening at the resort chilling and having our drinks. It was fun and honestly, very relaxing. Sitting in the garden by the poolside, talking to each other, having fun, this was all we wanted and we loved and cherished our time here.

In the evening, there was a bonfire arranged for all of us and once again, we had a great time chatting with our loved ones. Music, delicious dinner, and a lot of fun times – these marked the end of our day.

Day 2: The many delights of the jungle!

2 Day Weekend Trip To Jim Corbett: A Blissful Experience

We did the Jungle Safari today and it was a fabulous experience. Experiencing the raw energy of jungle was truly refreshing and we encountered many animals on our way including elephants and deers. Unfortunately, we could not spot the tiger but nonetheless, the whole activity was very enjoyable.

Back in the resort, we spent some time at the adjacent riverside and although, the river was dry, the view was still very picturesque. In the evening, there was once again a bonfire and we had great time talking to another large family that was also staying at the resort.

Day 3: An epic Holi celebration followed by a goodbye

This was our last day in Jim Corbett but it was a very special one for today was Holi. To celebrate this festival of colors, there was a party organized at the resort, and boy, it was fun!

Post the celebrations, we checked out of the resort, and proceeded back to Delhi in our cars.

Family Safari Ride On A Weekend Trip To Jim Corbett

We loved our trip to Jim Corbett. It was a perfect short escape that gave us a wonderful memories with our family. There was a surreal sense of nature that we experienced here and it was very well complimented by the property at which we were staying.

Another excellent part of the property was its food. Be it breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even evening snacks – the food was delicious every time. And it was not only us that were in praise of it, but most of the guests at the resort were in same agreement – that meals here were simply mind blowing!

Things that could have been better:

On our first day, the jeep safari was preponed but because of miscommunication, we had to come back from the main gate of the safari since we got delayed. Also, we could not go into the desired part of the jungle – Dhikala due to overbooking!

Tips for travelers:

Jim Corbett is a wonderful destination for families and offers the perfect escape from the hectic city life. It is a treat to the senses since it offers the best of wildlife, nature, peace, and adventure. A must visit place near Delhi!
