Experiences that made our trip to Andaman unforgettable
My family and I were blessed to have visited the beautiful emerald islands of Andaman. In terms of experiences, there were many firsts for us while exploring the gorgeous landscape on our trip to Andaman.
1. Cellular Jail: Sightseeing & Sound and Light Show
Often regarded as the most cruel jail in pre-independence India, Cellular Jail made a reputation for itself as being a ticket to hell for its occupants. Now converted into a monument, we enjoyed an inspirational and patriotic sound and light show on the first evening of our trip to Andaman.
2. Thrilling water sports at North Bay Island
The primary objective for our trip to Andaman was to be realized at the beautiful North Bay Island. My sons were eagerly waiting for this day- when they could finally head out into the open water for some adventure and thrills.
Firstly, they took part in scuba diving and, and later on, they joined us (their parents) for a submarine cruise ride, and glass bottom boat tour. The waters around North Bay Island were calm and crystal clear, giving diving enthusiasts a great chance to explore the beautiful underwater marine life.
3. Going for a walk at the most beautiful beach in Asia- Radhanagar Beach
We arrived at Havelock Island on the third day of our trip to Andaman. After checking into Radhakrishna Resort, we visited the famous Radhanagar Beach. At first, I was stunned by looking at the enormity of the beach in all its beauty and simplicity.
The soft cushion-like sand was a bliss to walk and sit onto. The greenery bordering the beach area painted a picture that reminded me of a scenic postcard. I was so at peace with myself that four hours went by at the Radhanagar Beach without me even realizing it.
4. Exploring the beautiful coral reef of Elephanta Island

On the fourth day, we visited the gorgeous Elephanta Beach to view the scenic coral reef it had to offer. My sons decided to snorkel and explore the coral reef, which in fact was the best way to get a complete view of the reef.
Bright sunny day, and still waters made for ideal conditions in which we could enjoy and relax at the Elephanta Beach.
5. Witnessing the incredible Limestone Caves of Baratang Island
On the fifth day of our trip to Andaman, we decided to alter our itinerary and cancel our plans to visit Chidiya Tapu near Port Blair. Instead, we thought of visiting the limestone caves in Baratang Island.
The magnificently carved out path, mangrove trees, and quiet still water made for an intriguing entrance to the caves. Another fascinating part of the visit was, when we spotted a few crocodiles sunbathing just across the entry point of the caves.
Our trip to Andaman introduced us to the untouched beauty of this pristine island. Along with the people that matter most in my life, I enjoyed six days of relaxation, visual pleasure, and exploration. For me, it felt like a dream come true as I have always wanted to travel around the world with my precious little family.
