Walk with 10,000 Buddhas in Macau

The Ten thousand Buddhas Monastery Hong Kong was founded in 1950 and it took almost six years to build the temple. The temple was also closed for 3 years after one of its caretakers was killed in a mudslide due to the poorly maintained slopes nearby. The temple is among the most beautiful tourist places in entire Hong Kong. The path of the temple to the 10,000 buddhas is itself a point of attraction. Buddhas presented on both side of the path are made of gold and are sound in different poses. Despite its name, the temple actually contains total 13,000 Buddhas. After the walk with the buddhas on the path, you will reach to the main hall where all 10,000 buddhas are located. Keep your eyes while climbing up the hill via the concrete path as there are much to explore in the way. You will find beautiful and attraction grasping mountain view and also wild monkeys crossing your path. In case you are lucky enough the ones could come and sit by your side you can capture a picture with them. Once you reach the top you will be rewarded with a peaceful environment and a panoramic view.

Beside the hall, there are more than 12,800 golden Buddha figures and along with this if you can climb up the 9 floors of the pagoda you can enjoy some compelling views along with your walk with 10,00 Buddhas.

The temple is a popular inclusion in most of the Hong Kong sightseeing tours. Due to its cultural and historical significance in Hong Kong, the temple and pagoda of the monastery have been given a Grade III historic buildings status. Also, the monastery has been filmed in several films and TV shows over the years.
