There are direct flights available from Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (BOM) to Srinagar International Airport (SXR). Both cities have a great network of roads, rail, and air. Boarding a flight by Indigo or GoAir from Mumbai to Srinagar takes only about 2 hours and 35 minutes whereas, a Mumbai to Srinagar train will take at least 36 hours to complete the journey. Mumbai to Srinagar By Train: The journey from Mumbai to Srinagar by train is a little long, however, is the best way to commute between the two destinations if one is traveling in a big group of family or friends. There is no direct train to Srinagar but there is one to Jammu. The train Jammu Tawi Special(09021) is the most preferred train from Mumbai to Jammu. Other trains are Vivek Express (19027) and Swaraj Express (12471). From Jammu, travelers can either board a train or hire a taxi to reach Srinagar. The train journey will take 36 hours to cover Mumbai to Srinagar distance by train. The distance between both places is around 2208 kilometers.

Mumbai To Srinagar By Air: Srinagar Airport is the main airport to reach the state of Jammu and Kashmir. There are only connecting flights available between Mumbai and Srinagar. Airlines such as IndiGo, GoAir, JetAirways have flights from Mumbai to Srinagar via New Delhi. One can take stop over flights via Delhi, Dehradun to travel between the two cities. Traveling by air is the most comfortable way of traveling this long distance as it helps to save travel time. Depending on the airlines, it may take up to 3 to 5 hours to reach Srinagar from Mumbai by flight.

Mumbai to Srinagar By Bus: There are no direct buses running between Mumbai to Srinagar.

Upon booking we immediately asked whether we should try ourselves for getting Gondola tickets. We were told no need and the agency would take care. Near to our travel date, and after the bookings are closed we are informed to try on our own leading to no Gondola tickets. Poor advise in terms of what

we can achieve or not on a trip. We had to use our own judgment and with the help of driver amend the plans as required. The agency vouchers were issued that were different to that issued by Travel Triangle. When questioned why there is no mention of Doodhpatri, it was just plugged in for the last day when we were to return from Pahalgam to Srinagar. The driver advised it would not be possible to do justice as we have to do Shikara ride also and left off Shalimar Garden. We amended and went to Doodhpathri on the day we cancelled Gulmarg plans due to no Gondola tickets. . Overall we feel shortchanged as we could not go to Gulmarg while we paid for that part of the trip. The driver saved us from lack of proper planning and advice from the agency.

There was some communication issue from agent and hence we had to wait in the snow for 10-15 mins. Also, the updated hotel name was not shared in the itenary or mail, hence we landed at wrong hotel and again had to get the luggage offloaded and go the right hotel.

The hotel which was booked for 1st day was not good. Basic amenities like handwash, room freshner etc. were missing. Location of the hotel was also not that good. Other than this, stay was comfortable. Cab was good. The driver was punctual but impatient. He didn't care about lane driving. He was alw

ays in a hurry as he had a flight to catch. Coming to sightseeing, local sightseeing of Srinagar could be better. On the last day, driver mentioned some important places which could be visited. On the last day, our check-out time from houseboat was 12 noon. But the driver as well as travel agent insisted that we have to check-out at 11 am at amx and we will be dropped to airport. I had booked my flight in the evening so that I could spend some more time and visit some more places (ofcourse at my own cost). I asked them if they could drop me to the airport in the afternoon but they denied and informed that it will be charged. These things can be improved or may clearly be mentioned at the time of booking.
