Each net requires four or five fishermen to work it, and fishing usually takes place in the mornings or early evenings. According to legends, this technique was brought to Kochi by the Chinese explorer named Zheng He, from emperor Kubla Khan’s court. Since that time, the Chinese Fishing Nets have been in use by Kochi’s fishermen.
