Amber Fort In Jaipur

Perhaps the most popular of all the city’s attractions is the great palace at Amber Fort, Jaipur. Situated high on a hill and a short drive away from Jaipur is this bulwark monument, once home to the proud maharajas of the region. Even now, it is an incredibly well-maintained site with tourists from all over the world flocking here, over a million a year, to bask and revel in the grandeur and largess of the fort.

Built by a series of the Rajput kings of Jaipur, this used to be the capital of their dynasty. The grand and beautiful architecture that can be observed at Amber fort is in the classical Hindu style, with giant ramparts, a number of different gates and cobbled streets on the inside. The Amber Fort has been declared as a World Heritage site and as such is now maintained quite well.
