Jal Mahal in Jaipur, which translates literally to 'Water Palace,' is a pretty self-explanatory landmark. Situated right in the middle of Man Sagar Lake in the beautiful city of Jaipur, the Jal Mahal is a marvelous blend of Mughal and Rajput architecture and one of the true showpieces of the Pink city.
Jal Mahal History
The bustling flora and fauna made the lake a favorite shooting ground for the Rajput kings of yesteryears that enjoyed hunting and indulged in it regularly. It eventually leads to the becoming of Jal Mahal Palace in Jaipur as a popular hunting site. A lowly built structure, Jal Mahal is barely one floor, but the symmetry of the architecture lends the Jal Mahal a unique aesthetic.
