About Diveagar

The village of Diveagar is a notable tourist destination in the Raigad district of Maharashtra. The village is famous for its beach which is serene and tranquill and is not infested with tourists. Diveagar is a splendid beach almost 15km from Shrivardhan and Harihareshwar. Though usually the beach is solitary, the place is marked by influx of large number of devotees at Suvarna Ganesh temple which houses a pure gold idol. The beach is strewn with rocks at some places.
Diveagar is approximately 170km from Pune and the route to Diveagar via the Tamhini Ghats is astoundingly beautiful particularly during monsoons. One has to take NH17 in order to reach Diveagar from Mumbai. Diveagar is richly abundant in beetel nut, jack fruit and banana plantations. 'Belu' plants cover access to the Diveagar beach.  One can make Diveagar trip unforgettable by catching a ferry from Dighi to Murud Janjira. Sand bubble crabs are found at the Diveagar beach and at Harihareshwar one can find dolphins.
Diveagar is well connected to major cities by road transport, train and flight services.
PLACES AROUND DIVEAGAR:
Suvarna Ganesh temple is a magnificent temple which houses a gold statue of Lord Ganesha. The idol is one of the best sculptural works. The four hands of the idol along with Shankh, Chakra, Gada and Padma are carved in such a way that when seen in a clockwise direction it shows 24 different appearances of Lord Vishnu.
Srivardhan is a beautiful place with white sands and a spectacular beach. One can visit three temples in Srivardhan. Jiwaneshwar Temple is an old Shiva Temple. The pillars which have been used in the temple belong to Peshwa's house in Pune. As one enters the city one can see Somjai Temple.
Bagmandala Beach is a clean and secluded beach near Srivardhan and one shall enjoy playing in the white sands of this beach. One can also visit the adjacent Bankot Fort via a boat ride.
Harihareshwar is a significant religious spot with temples of Lord Shiva and Kalbhairav Temple located on the beach. It is also known as Dakshin Kashi. Harihareshwar is marked by an exotic beach which has clean sand on one side and rocks on the other side.
Kuda Leni situated near Tale is surely a must visit. Caves carved out of mountain in King Shilahar's time are restored safely. Vehicles can reach upto Kuda caves. The aesthetic viewaround the caves is highly exhilarating.
