About Raigad

The ruins of the fort today consist of Queen's chambers with six chambers having their own rest rooms. Since the fort is situated at an altitude of 2851 feet above the sea level, a rope-way has is provided to reach to the fort. The rope-way is known as the Raigad Rope-way. One can enjoy the panoramic view of Rayreshwar, Visapur, Purandar, Tikona, Sinhagad and Vichitragad when they reach the fort.

3- Gangasagar lake: The Gangasagar Lake is an artificial lake which was Built by Shivaji. It lies directly in front of the Raigad Fort adjacent to the Queen's chamber. The lake is beautifully surrounded by snow clad peaks making it a perfect destination for tourists.
Tip: One must carry water with themselves as you might not get drinking water when here.
