About
Tripvillas is a website that allows travelers to book Holiday Homes and Homestays instead of Hotels and Resorts. This is a win-win proposition where Owners who use such properties rarely make additional income and Travelers get to stay in large spacious family homes in some of the most beautiful places in the world. The website was founded in late 2009 by Roshan D'Silva when looking for ways to generate additional income from Coffee Plantations ...
owned by his family. Inspired by Craigslist, Roshan set out to create a simple website where owners of private homes could create a simple profile for their property and then correspond with like minded families who would be interested in staying in their homes as an alternate to hotels.
Depending on the size of the property, many owners in Asia have chosen to convert their homes into Homestays, BnBs, Pension houses etc. where Travelers can stay in self contained rooms within the property or else to just rent out the entire Property to families and groups who then have full use of the property including the kitchen, living room, lawns and swimming pool.
Tripvillas is headquartered in Singapore and has many innovations to it's credit - including being the first marketplace to launch Instant Bookings, the first to support Holiday Communities which are newer properties which have been built in recent years where multiple families have bought holiday homes within a complex and also the First marketplace to support Holiday Rental Agencies - who manage multiple homes on behalf of non-Resident owners through their own dedicated pages and our free directory of such Agencies.
Tripvillas is funded by some of the world's leading Angel groups and Funds. Our Founder and the Management team are also large owners and are fully aligned with the success of the business.
Tripvillas is passionate about the Holiday Home industry and about it's importance to families as they look to spend more time with each other. As part of this, we started in early 2011 Holiday Home Times - today widely read by various participants in the industry - Owners, Prospective buyers, real estate developers and Government and regulators.
