Day 1: From Mumbai to Seychelles, with love!

We started our journey from Aurangabad and reached Mumbai with a flight delay of 1.5 hours due to the rains. Later on, from Mumbai to Seychelles, there was another delay of 3 hours (same reason) but finally, when we landed, all our fatigue vanished when we saw how beautiful the island nation was.
We met a travel representative from the Holiday Box at the airport who took us to a place where we could collect our baggage and freshen up. Later, he dropped us at a port in Mahe, from where we were transferred to our hotel – Coco de Mer hotel and black parrot suites in Praslin.
This hotel was exactly as the agent had described and I was pleased to find that it offered the same experience. Since we were tired from our journey, our rest of the day was spent here only.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Seychelles
Post breakfast today, our sightseeing tour started with a trip to Vallee de Mai, a Nature Reserve that is famous for its palm forest and the Coco de Mer, the world’s heaviest nut. It takes about 70 years for this nut to ripe and it was truly a delight to see it. Apart from the nut, the reserve is also famous for the black parrot which is found here but unfortunately, we could not spot one.
Upon returning back to our hotel, we found out we had gotten a complimentary upgrade on our room and this goes without saying, but we were quite happy with the same.
Day 3: A leisure day at the resort
This was a leisure day and we mostly spent it chilling at the resort and indulging in its many activities.

We checked out of our hotel today and were transferred to the La Digue island via a ferry. This island, which is also known as lovers island is full of nature, has quiet beaches, fewer cars, mostly cycles, and a serene ambience that cannot be matched.
In the evening after we had checked into our hotel (La Digue Island Lodge) and relaxed for a while, my wife and I hired cycles and went about exploring the island on our own. Spending time with my wife exploring the island was extremely romantic and we loved every bit of each other’s company here.
Day 5: Visiting one of the best beaches in the world – Grand Anse
We had an amazing day today and it was mostly spent at the incredibly beautiful Grand Anse beach. Other times, when we were not at the beach, we explored the island on our own but were guided by the owner of Holiday Box. He told us about the best places to visit in La Digue and also about the food spots. Overall, the day was spent quite well and cycling around with my love on this island was truly a romantic experience.

Day 6: Kempinski Seychelles Resort in Mahe

We checked out of our hotel today and were transferred back to Mahe via a ferry. Upon reaching the land, we checked into our new resort – Kempinski Seychelles Resort, and believe me when I say, it was an out of the world experience. This resort had EVERYTHING, including unlimited free drinking water. There were beaches, amazing Indian food, sports and watersports equipment, excellent room service and top of the class hospitality.
The folks at this resort took such good care of us that we wanted to stay here forever! We even got a complimentary cake and sparkling wine in the honor of our marriage.
Day 7: Mahe Island sightseeing and tour

This day on our honeymoon trip to Seychelles, we did a lot of sightseeing in Mahe. From mesmerizing nature to jungles, greenery, trees, tortoise, to the history and culture – we saw it all and had a great time.
We even visited the amazing man-made Eden Island and had a lunch at its super Indian restaurant. The food here was awesome and being pure vegetarians in a coastal country, it was a relief.
Day 8: Leisure Day
This was another of our leisure days in Seychelles and we spent it having an awesome time in our amazing resort. From the pool to snorkeling, we did it all and had a great time indulging in some authentic Indian food.
Day 9: St Anne Pvt Island Resort – a gem of a place for honeymooners!
We checked out of Kempinski today and frankly did not think there could be any resort better than it – we were wrong!

St Anne Pvt Island Resort was the best experience we had in Seychelles and we would remember it for the rest of our life. This “villa only” private island resort is set amidst one of the largest marine parks in the world and is breathtakingly beautiful and calm. The villas are exclusive and just to reach the reception, one has to use a golf cart. There are sea bridges to reach from one place to another and here we saw a lot of marine life including tortoise, sharks, stingrays, starfish and a lot more.
In the evening, there was an incredibly romantic candlelight dinner organized for us and it was here that we felt that our honeymoon trip to Seychelles was complete.
Day 10: Our honeymoon trip to Seychelles comes to an end
This was our last day in Seychelles and after breakfast and lunch, we had quick glass bottom boat ride to admire the marine beauty of this island one last time. It was surreal and we did spot quite a lot of fishes. Later, we checked out of the hotel at 5 (late checkout) and were transferred back to the airport for a smooth transition and flight back to Mumbai.

Our honeymoon in Seychelles was straight out of a picture book. It had everything a couple desires including privacy and more. There are so many picturesque memories in our hearty that now when we look back at them, it brings a massive smile to our faces.

Low Point:
- The only low point for us would be food since we are pure vegetarians and although most of the time, everything was well-taken care off, there were some moments when the food was unsatisfactory. For this, as advised by our agent, we had our own packaged food to help us.
Tips for fellow future travelers:
- Get your money exchanged from local money exchange centers in Seychelles and do not ever get them converted from hotel or airport.
- Vegetarians should carry their own packaged foods, just in case, they are unable to find some (very rare).
- Although Euros are accepted everywhere, it is advisable that one converts a bit of their currency in the local currency too just in case someone refuses to accept Euros (very rare).
