Holidays in Europe are expected to be incredibly long, expensive and secluded from work. Meet Salai Dhavamathi, a clinical instructor from Chennai, who changed this assumption. She extended her business trip to take a 2-day holiday to Switzerland with her husband
at a total cost (inclusive of train tickets, passes, sightseeing and hotel) of Rs.42,000!

The Perfect 2 Days Trip to Switzerland

  • Day 1: Zurich
  • Day 2: Delicious Breakfast and Dreamy Locations

Working as a Clinical Instructor in Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai, when one of my research papers got selected to be presented at the SILMO Conference in Paris, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to be able to enjoy a short holiday with my better half. We were looking for a nearby place that would be convenient to cover within time constraints. Our hunt came to an end with Switzerland.

My husband came across TravelTriangle through a Google search. Although a little uncertain at first, we were more than satisfied with the services provided. These two days were made memorable with the correct guidance from our Travel Expert, Bhavna.

Having traveled to places like Japan for business, Switzerland was unique and perfect for my first international family trip! I was happy to share this beautiful experience with my husband.

My husband and I started our day with a journey from Paris by train. After four hours, we finally reached our holiday destination, Zurich. We received the Zurich pass at the railway station and then made way to our hotel. The Zurich pass was very convenient as it allowed us unlimited travel through the city via train or bus.

Enjoying the view from one of the finest rooms in the Zurich Hotel

Our hotel, The Best Spirghaten, was beautiful, done up with lovely interiors. Our room was one of the best, which just enhanced our entire trip to Switzerland. We had a delicious lunch there and then set out to explore gorgeous Zurich.

Enjoying a cup of coffee over a lovely breakfast in Zurich

The day began with a hearty and lavish breakfast at the hotel. You know a day is going to be great, when it starts with a delicious meal. Post our wholesome meal, we made our way back to the Zurich train station to catch the day sightseeing bus.

The tourist bus was equipped with a travel guide. He was very helpful in answering all our questions and gave us a lot of information of the places we visited.

The tour started with a drive to Rhein fall through the Zurich Village. The Rhein fall was definitely a once in a lifetime experience, with its natural beauty and mesmerizing view. We also got to see the gorgeous sights through a boat at the fall. The weather was incredibly cold and just added to the entire experience.

Basking in the sun on a warm beautiful day in Zurich

Post this, we enjoyed a little bit of shopping around Zurich itself. On our way back to the hotel, we almost touched the German border, which was very fascinating.

Our trip to Switzerland came to an end too soon as we set back to Paris in the evening. However, this does not take away from how special they were and the amazing time I had.

Overall, our trip worked out to be incredibly economical with the Zurich Pass. It gave us enough to bond as a couple alongside an opportunity to explore a new place on a business trip. I went home with some of the best memories that I will cherish for times to come!

Wow Moment: The Hotel Breakfast and Rhein Fall

Low Moment: Our trip came to an end too soon. I wish it could’ve been longer.

Tips: Although you can cover the most important sights in 2 days, a longer trip of at least a week would be preferable.
