Day 1: Sightseeing in Lansdowne

Tushar’s Unusually Refreshing Solo Trip To Lansdowne Was The Best Stress Buster He Could’ve Asked For

We boarded the bus, a night before, at 11.30 pm from Akshardham metro station. After being forced to take a short detour, that put us an hour behind schedule, we arrived in Lansdowne at 8:30 am. We checked into Camp Advait, had breakfast and rested for while.

Later on, in the afternoon, we had some adventure activities lined up like flying fox within the camp grounds. We got free from the adventure activities by 2 pm. Lansdowne is a must visit place for nature lovers and people who want a short vacation away from the crowd. Being an army cantonment of the Garhwal rifles helps regulate the tourism and crowd at all times of the year in Lansdowne.

After lunch, one thing was clear; that the food served at Camp Advait was delicious. At 2pm, we left for a sightseeing tour of Lansdowne. In this tour we visited the St. John’s church, Tip n top, and sunrise point. We wound up the sightseeing tour with a visit to the Bhulla Lake. We departed for the camp at 6 pm.

In the evening, there was a bonfire dinner scheduled for us. My friends and I were really looking forward to a night of celebration and stories in such a serene surrounding. As we gathered around the bonfire, we spent the night chatting, having a gala time, making new friends, and enjoying good food and drinks. We returned back to our rooms at 1 am and called it a night.

Hotel Review of Camp Advait :

Camp Advait has a good team of staff, which serves excellent food and provides good service. The rooms were comfortable, although, the only thing that lacked was the hygiene in bathrooms.

This morning, we planned to get up and see the sunrise, but we couldn’t wake up in time. We got up at 8 am, had breakfast, and went ahead for an interesting team building adventure activity lined up for us. The activity finished at noon, after which we had lunch and got ready to depart from New Delhi.

After a long yet comfortable bus journey, we arrived in Delhi at 10pm to end our weekend trip to Lansdowne. A much needed weekend break bore fruit, as my friends and I came back recharged, positive, and content with a weekend packed with travel.

The trip was nicely organized and planned. All of us enjoyed the trip and none of us felt left out from the larger group of 25 people. I think full credit went to Prateek and Divyansh, who made sure that the group went ahead as integrated as possible. They were innovative in trying to make the trip interesting for everyone.
