Located in the hills of Kodaikanal, the Devil’s Kitchen blends folklore and adventure, drawing travellers with its striking rock formations and mysterious atmosphere.
The name comes from bat colonies linked to the supernatural and the tales of Pandavas using the caves as a hidden kitchen, creating an air of mystery and excitement for the visitors.
Documented by B.S. Ward in 1821, the Guna caves remained obscure until the late 1980’s. Their popularity soared in 1991 with Kamal Hasan’s film Gunaa, attracting visitors.
Shrouded in mystery, these caves are famous for its chilling folklore, at least 16 reported disappearances, and a maze of hidden passageways that challenges explorers.
