About the Tungnath Temple Trek

Situated at an altitude of 11,800 ft, the 3.5 km trek is rated as moderately easy. Experience the Panch Kedar temple at its highest point in Uttarakhand.

DAY 1 Depart from Rishikesh to Ukimath. Enjoy a scenic 178 km drive through beautiful landscapes, which takes about 6-7 hours.

Day 2: Take a bus or cab from Ukimath to Chopta, covering a distance of approximately 60 kilometres.

Day 3 Trek up to Tungnath and Chandrashila from Chopta. The total distance covered is 7 km, and the views are stunning.

Day 4 Drive back from Tungnath to Rishikesh. Enjoy the same 206 km route while reflecting on your trekking adventure.

The best months to visit are from April to November, with the temple reopening on May 10th and closing in late October or early November.
