If you’re planning for a beachy tropical vacation in the isles of Indian Ocean, chances are you are divided between Zanzibar and Seychilles. Both of these East African archipelagos are bursting with beautiful tropical flora and gorgeous weather. So, which one’s better for you?

Uninhabited before the 18th century, Seychelles is full of unexplored places, unique plant life, and fascinating granite formations. Zanzibar is also home to rare animal populations like the Red Colobus Monkeys, but overall Seychelles trumps Zanzibar in this category.

Wilderness safaris are a big part of African tourism - wildebeest migration safari, gorilla trekking safari, bird watching & mount climbing safaris. Zanzibar has more options, and thus, is better for a combined bush and beach honeymoon.

Seychelles is a more ideal destination for a private honeymoon with over 20 islands developed for tourism while only two get crowded. However, Zanzibar still has some select locations with fewer travelers you can put up with.

Seychelles can be more expensive. You may not afford a package here when on tight budget. Zanzibar, on the other hand, can fit different budget plans. There are backpacker hostels in eastern coast beaches cheap food joints which allow travel without breaking bank.

Being island nations in a relatively similar geographical location, both places more or less have the same weather conditions. Zanzibar has two rainy seasons however from March to May and November to December while Seychilles receives rainfall in December to February.
