Yes, that’s right! The most heavenly place on earth is all set to welcome its first-ever glass-roof train. And that gives tourists an opportunity to see Kashmir submerged in the Autumn-hued\u00a0dried Chinar leaves, the verdant meadows of the valley spread like a green\u00a0rug, and the snowy mountain peaks right from the comfortable Vistadome coaches.<\/p>\n

The 40-seater Vistadome train has been proposed jointly by the Union Railway Minister and the Chief Minister of\u00a0Jammu and Kashmir<\/a> in order to revive tourism in the valley. The seats on the train will have ample legroom and will come with push-back and rotation options that’ll let passengers\u00a0get better views of the stunning valley. Also, the Vistadome train will have electrically controlled opalescence to allow passengers to control the transparency of the glass. Cool, isn’t it!<\/p>\n

Hari Mohan, Northern Railway\u2019s chief area manager in Srinagar said, \u201cWe will decide whether the train will ply on the 112-km stretch from Banihal to Baramulla. It is also to be decided whether the train will operate once or multiple times on a given day.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

Hari Mohan also said, \u201cThe train is a public property and they should safeguard it. If a single glass pane is damaged, we will have to stop its operation till the damaged pane is replaced.<\/em>\u00a0We want to boost the Valley\u2019s tourism through this train and we need support from the people. Tourists cannot be attracted without local support.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n
