The government of India needs to update its existing international tourism campaign \u2018Incredible India\u2019 to \u2018Incredible & Green India!\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n

Why, you ask?<\/p>\n

According to the reports from NASA, the earth has turned greener as compared to the last 20 years<\/strong>. And, India, along with China, have a major credit to take. If one looks at the map released by NASA, the world\u2019s largest populations are contributing most to earth\u2019s foliage<\/strong>, making it a greener and better place to live.<\/p>\n

Whosoever said India is a gas chamber can take this in their faces. Even the US stands on the 7th position<\/strong> of the total change in the vegetation percentage in the last decade. While people go seek for greenery and verdant landscapes out of India, there is an abundance of greenery to be explored in their homeland. This sends out a positive message for India which otherwise has a reputation of being one of the most populated countries in the world. Thanks to Delhi\u2019s smog!<\/p>\n

China and India constitute one-third of the greening on the planet<\/strong> despite containing only 9% of earth\u2019s land covered with vegetation.<\/p>\n

Yes, there were times when India went through a massive scale of deforestation in the \u201980s to make space for urbanization, agriculture, and development. But thanks to the 800,000 volunteers<\/strong> from Uttar Pradesh who planted 50 million trees<\/strong> alone in 2017 and helped us turn the bald patch into lush green. They even have a world record under their names of planting all these trees in a mere 24 hours.<\/p>\n

India\u2019s next milestone:<\/strong> Having 95 million hectares of green land<\/p>\n

As a proud and responsible Indian, do your bit to make it happen as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
