Travel for me is all about exploring new places, indulging in cultures, enjoying photography and becoming a better version of myself. But this time, since I was going on my honeymoon, the trip was extra special. It was about romance and after listing down several destinations, we finally chose Kerala for it was not only God\u2019s own country but also a place that needed our support after the floods. So we decided to help and went with it because we knew, no matter what, Kerala won\u2019t disappoint us and we were correct. <\/em><\/p>\n

Upon landing in Cochin, we were greeted by the driver who was waiting for us at the exit. So we boarded the cab (Maruti SX4) and began our scenic journey to our resort in Munnar. There was beauty all around on the way and by the time we reached Munnar, we were totally awestruck by the greenery. The view from the resort was grand and amazing and after having our dinner, we retired for the night. Our first day was a bit hectic from the traveling but it was also exciting nonetheless.<\/p>\n

Day 2: Visiting the many marvels of Munnar<\/h3>\n

We woke up early today and left for sightseeing by 9. There were many incredible places that we visited today. From the lush green tea gardens to the photo point, to tea farms, Munnar Lake and more – everything was incredibly soothing to the eye and rejuvenating for our mind. Kerala truly felt like heaven on earth and by the time we reached back our resort, we were feeling the vibe of Kerala very well.<\/p>\n

Day 3: Thekkady<\/h3>\n

We left for Thekkady in the morning today and spent half day reaching there. The views on the way were no doubt wonderful but traveling from one hill station to another definitely took a toll on us. So, by the time we reached Thekkady, we were a bit tired, Nonetheless, a wonderful spa session at the resort helped us rejuvenate.<\/p>\n

Day 4: An incredible stay experience at the houseboat in Alleppey<\/h3>\n

In the morning today, we left for Alleppey to enjoy our stay at the houseboat there. Upon reaching the lake, we checked into the houseboat and enjoyed a nice breakfast. Post this we rested for a while and then went on for a ride to the backwaters. It was a beautiful experience where we felt connected with nature. Post this, we had our lunch and it included rice, coconut chutney, juice, and much more. Overall, our houseboat stay was wonderful.<\/p>\n

Day 5: Back to Kochi<\/h3>\n

We were transferred back to Kochi today for one more day and upon reaching the hotel, rested for a while before heading to the airport the next day for our flight back home.<\/p>\n

Overall if I look at my honeymoon trip to Kerala, I think it was a mixture of romance, surreal nature, and unique experiences and sightseeing. This was a wonderful trip and with my companion for life beside me, it was made even better.<\/p>\n

We loved exploring Munnar and its incredible sites. Apart from this, the houseboat stay in Alleppey was also an out of the world experience<\/p>\n

Thekkady wasn’t a good fit for our us especially since we spent half a day traveling towards it. Same was the case with Kochi.<\/p>\n
