Liverpool Castle stood the testaments of time from 13th to 18th century and was one of the oldest castles in Liverpool. It was built by the orders of 4th Earl of Derby in 1232 to protect King John\u2019s new port. The imposing castle was built on top of a plateau overlooking the River Mersey.
