The trip cost them 26000 INR which included meals, accommodation, transfers and sightseeing.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>My wife and I always wanted to<strong> travel to North-eastern India<\/strong>. I started getting various quotes from multiple agents, out of which I selected one with the most competitive price.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Day 1: Landing in Bagdogra<\/strong><\/h3>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/assets.traveltriangle.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_20160720_172047.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-36128\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.traveltriangle.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_20160720_172047.jpg\" alt=\"Landing in Bagdogra\" width=\"700\" height=\"466\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>We boarded our flight from Bangalore and <strong>arrived in Bagdogra at 2pm<\/strong>. On our arrival, a taxi guy was present to greet and drive us to the hotel in <a href=\"https:\/\/traveltriangle.com\/sikkim-tourism\/gangtok\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gangtok<\/a>. After a long and tiring journey from Bagdogra, we finally <strong>arrived in Gangtok at 8 pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After check into the hotel, we had dinner and then proceeded to give our tired bodies rest during the night.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Day 2: Sightseeing in High Altitude<\/strong><\/h3>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/assets.traveltriangle.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/DSC_0325.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-36112\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.traveltriangle.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/DSC_0325.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0325\" width=\"700\" height=\"466\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Suggested Read:<\/strong> <a class=\"mustread-link\" href=\"https:\/\/traveltriangle.com\/blog\/places-to-visit-in-sikkim\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">48 Places To Visit In Sikkim: Extraordinary Realms In The North East<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The day began with an early breakfast, as the driver was ready to pick us up from the hotel for a sightseeing tour. The tour began with a<strong> journey to the Nathula Pass<\/strong>. Located at more than <strong>14000 ft<\/strong>, it was our first chance to see an <strong>Indo-China border.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Although, this day it was raining throughout, but \u00a0reaching at that altitude to see such a significant place kept our spirits up. We made a few friends over at <a href=\"https:\/\/traveltriangle.com\/sikkim-tourism\/gangtok\/places-to-visit\/nathula-pass\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nathula Pass<\/a>, had some nice conversations and enjoyed regardless.<\/p>\n<p>On our way back from Nathula Pass, we <strong>visited Baba Mandir and Tsomgo Lake<\/strong>. A simple thing like having a cup of coffee felt like heaven after visiting these places where we were drenched with rain and feeling cold.<\/p>\n<p>We arrived back at the hotel around 6 pm. We had a candlelight dinner scheduled for us, which was brilliant. The tour began with a visit to the <strong>Monastery and Banzakhri Falls<\/strong>. It was a peaceful and pleasant experience to visit and meditate in the monastery.<\/p>\n<p>At the Waterfalls, we spent a good amount of time and clicked a lot of pictures. After the sightseeing tour, we continued with our habit of trying out some <strong>local cuisine for lunch<\/strong>, which was delicious.<\/p>\n<p>Afterwards, around 3 pm, it was our time to check out of Gangtok and <a href=\"https:\/\/traveltriangle.com\/west-bengal-tourism\/darjeeling\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">move towards Darjeeling<\/a>. <strong>The journey to Darjeeling, which lasted 4 hours<\/strong>, was a lovely journey as the sun was out and beaming. It gave us a good view of the mountains and the valley.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Day 4: Darjeeling Sightseeing<\/strong><\/h3>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/assets.traveltriangle.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/DSC_0631.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-36116\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.traveltriangle.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/DSC_0631.jpg\" alt=\"Temple Visit in Darjeeling\" width=\"700\" height=\"466\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>We woke up early in the day, as we were scheduled to go <a href=\"https:\/\/traveltriangle.com\/west-bengal-tourism\/darjeeling\/places-to-visit\/tiger-hill\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tiger Hill<\/a> to watch the <strong>sunrise over Mt. Khangchendzongha (World&#8217;s 3rd highest peak).<\/strong> However, our luck caught us again, and it started to rain in the morning.<\/p>\n<p>We missed the sunrise in the morning, but on our way back we visited the<strong> Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop<\/strong>. I also\u00a0wanted to go on the toy train tour, but for some reason it was not operational for that day (luck wasn&#8217;t really on our side on this trip).<\/p>\n<p>Post lunch, we visited <strong>the Zoo, Tea Gardens and the Mountaineering Institute<\/strong>. After the sightseeing, we visited the local market in Darjeeling for some souvenir shopping. We also were lucky to see a few artists perform in front of the Old Clock tower.<\/p>\n<p>In the evening, we had dinner and proceeded back to the hotel for the night.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Day 5: Departure to Bagdogra<\/strong><\/h3>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/assets.traveltriangle.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_20160716_124804.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-36121\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.traveltriangle.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_20160716_124804.jpg\" alt=\"Rohit and his wife enjoying the rain\" width=\"700\" height=\"467\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>We checked out of Darjeeling at 9 am and the <strong>taxi driver took us to Bagdogra<\/strong>.
