As they say, charity<\/strong> began at home and made Louis and Janet D\u2019souza<\/strong> travel through 52 countries in 8 months.<\/strong> Inspired by yet another family who traveled for 111 days across 11 countries, Louis & Janet, 61 and 55<\/strong> respectively, only felt more positive with time about their dream of traveling<\/strong> from India<\/a><\/strong> to UK and back.<\/em><\/p>\n

Combining their love for driving<\/strong> and their passion to explore the world<\/strong> as much as possible, the retired couple decided to make the most of their retirement days<\/strong> and take a break from the monotonous business schedules.<\/p>\n

Learning much from the previous experience of exploring South India<\/a> for over 3000 kilometers,<\/strong> there was nothing that could have stopped this retired couple from taking some lavish time off for themselves.<\/p>\n

They embarked on their road trip<\/a><\/strong> called \u201cThe Lifetime Journey\u201d<\/strong> from Mumbai<\/a><\/strong> in May 2016 and journeyed through 52 countries. It included China, Russia,<\/a><\/strong> Norway,<\/a><\/strong> Germany, United Kingdom, France,<\/a><\/strong> Spain,<\/a><\/strong> Switzerland,<\/a><\/strong> Croatia, Italy<\/a><\/strong> Greece and Iran over a period of 8 months.<\/p>\n

Other countries that made it to their itinerary are Myanmar, Latvia, Finland, Sweden,<\/a><\/strong> Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium,<\/a><\/strong> Portugal,<\/a><\/strong> Hungary, Slovenia, Malta, Bulgaria, Turkey<\/a><\/strong> Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.<\/p>\n

As much as their children were skeptical about the idea of retired couple travel especially because they were going to be driving throughout, Louis & Janet drove those extra miles for charity and donated INR 10 for every kilometer<\/strong> that they traveled.<\/p>\n

Not even the language barrier<\/strong> could stop them from living their dreams as Google Translate<\/strong> came to their rescue. As a result of their passion and commitment, they ended up raising about INR 6 lakhs<\/strong> for White Doves<\/strong> and Muskaan Sharing Smiles<\/strong> apart from INR 5.5 lakhs<\/strong> that they contributed earlier.<\/p>\n
