{"id":55925,"date":"2021-12-08T02:34:20","date_gmt":"2021-12-07T21:04:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/traveltriangle.com\/blog\/?p=55925"},"modified":"2021-12-08T17:06:43","modified_gmt":"2021-12-08T11:36:43","slug":"uk-visa-free-eu-travel-brexit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/traveltriangle.com\/blog\/uk-visa-free-eu-travel-brexit\/","title":{"rendered":"Visa-Free EU Travel: What UK Tourism Wants In The Next 2 Years Of Brexit Talks"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><\/h2>\n<p><em>The Department of UK Tourism has raised its concerns over <strong>visa-free EU travel,<\/strong> so that the aviation industry continues to grow without any hindrance post the completion of Brexit process.<\/em><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Since UK is still seeking approval from other member-countries of EU for their exit, <strong>the negotiations for Brexit<\/strong> are expected to go on for a long period of time.<\/p>\n<p>Trying to leverage the most out of these negotiations, <strong>the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA)<\/strong> is keen on making <strong>visa-free EU travel<\/strong> from United Kingdom as the top-most point of discussions.<\/p>\n<p>According to the reports of <strong><a class=\"external-link\" href=\"http:\/\/uk.reuters.com\/article\/uk-britain-eu-travel-idUKKBN1752MV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">UK Reuters<\/a><\/strong>, <strong>the Chief Executive of ABTA, Mark Tanzer<\/strong> stated, &#8220;Travel and tourism is one of the UK&#8217;s largest industries and it is vital that the Government makes sure it can continue to thrive during and after the negotiations.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>ABTA also aims to establish other goals such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Ensuring that Britons&#8217; travel to Europe with full freedom<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Protecting their consumer rights<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Working towards the stability and growth of British businesses<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Establishing a transitional agreement wherein travelers can be assured with some certainty as most of the <a class=\"bookpackages-link\" href=\"https:\/\/traveltriangle.com\/tour-packages\/international?utm_source=Blog_bs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">international holiday packages<\/a> are planned and sold well in advance.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-55928\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.traveltriangle.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/UK-Cover.jpg\" alt=\"There May During Brexit\" width=\"700\" height=\"524\" \/><\/div>\n<p><a class=\"imagesource-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.euractiv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2017\/01\/Tusk_Theresa_May_Council_CREDITEuropean-Union.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Image Source<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It all started when the UK Government held a <strong>referendum in June 2016<\/strong> whether to leave EU or not, which was followed by a legit decision to withdraw itself from the European Union. Soon, the term <strong>\u201cBrexit\u201d<\/strong> was coined after the scenario which is an abbreviation of the words <strong>Br<\/strong>itain and <strong>exit<\/strong> put together.<\/p>\n<p>Not willing to stay in the system of a <strong>single market,<\/strong> the new Prime Minister of Britain, <strong>Theresa May,<\/strong> had earlier initiated <strong>Article 50,<\/strong> which was originally made for countries who want to withdraw their association with EU. Since the withdrawal was initiated on March 29th 2017, UK is expected to accomplish the <strong>Brexit by April, 2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Though Article 50 has been existed since 2009, it has never been executed by any of the <strong><a class=\"external-link\" href=\"https:\/\/europa.eu\/european-union\/about-eu\/countries_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">28 associated countries<\/a><\/strong> so far. It is also expected that it might take UK <strong>upto six years<\/strong> to get the approval from all the National Parliaments of 27 other countries for Brexit.<\/p>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-55926\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.traveltriangle.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/1-319.jpg\" alt=\"UK and EU\" width=\"700\" height=\"464\" \/><\/div>\n<p><a class=\"imagesource-link\" href=\"http:\/\/17026-presscdn-0-98.pagely.netdna-cdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/06\/1-319.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Image Source<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hence, the policy of <strong>visa-free EU travel<\/strong> has been brought to attention by ABTA in order to guarantee zero disruption of flights, and to protect the aviation sector which cannot retreat to any establishments like other trade companies have <strong>World Trade Organization<\/strong> to back them up.<\/p>\n<p>This can only be done while there\u2019s still time as UK continues to conform to <strong>the laws and treaties of EU<\/strong> until it officially exits the European Union.
