India has set up air bubbles for international travel with the UK, France, Germany, Maldives and many other countries. Within the arrangement, now flights would also be running from India. According to that, Indian airline carrier Vistara to start international flights<\/strong> to the United Kingdom, Germany and France. The airline is currently working with the airport authorities of the respective countries to chart out slots at the airports.<\/em><\/p>\n

Vistara Gets New Aircraft<\/h2>\n

Vistara airlines has received it’s second wide-body aircraft – the B787-9 this week. The airlines had received the first one back in February. The B787 – 9 model is more wide and therefore, can carry more passengers than Vistara’s already existing aircraft. Much of Vistara’s fleet of 43 is composed of the narrow body A320 Neo and B737-800NG. The need for a wide aircraft has emerged as a result of the demand for travel and transfer of citizens between the two countries. Since, much of the international travel was shut due to the coronavirus pandemic, this is welcome news for the aviation sector.<\/p>\n

What This Means For Aviation<\/h2>\n

Since late March, international travel from all over the world was in a standstill. But with international air bubbles and other such arrangements now being worked upon, tourism seems to be gaining pace. Here are the key takeaways from the current air bubble:<\/span><\/p>\n

Vistara has already booked slots with London’s Heathrow airport. The flights between the two countries would be likely announced in the next few days. The plan is to run flights between Delhi and London. It is expected to run flights for 3 days in a week.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. India-Germany & India -France Bubble<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The likely destination in Germany is Frankfurt while Paris seems to the top contender for flights from India. The announcement is yet to be made. Also, to be announced is the Indian city which will likely carry passengers to these cities. Irrespective of that, it’s great news for the aviation sector.<\/span><\/p>\n

The aviation sector has been dealing with the pandemic and resorted to strict cost-cutting measures. From pay cuts to leave without pay or lay-offs, the employees in the aviation sector have probably seen the worst of it all. But with every passing day, progress is being made! Travel has not returned to its full capacity, but signs are highly positive. The domestic flights opened on May 25 and are operating at 50-60 percent occupancy rate already.
