4. Temple Of The Golden Buddha (Wat Traimit)<\/h3>\n

The 15-foot-tall gold Buddha statue is housed in a four-storey marble in Chinatown, Bangkok. The temple has an exemplary display of Sukhothai-style architecture. Earlier, the statue was covered in plaster and lacquer to hide the precious icon from the thieves. The actual gold icon remained undiscovered until it was moved to Wat Traimit in 1955 as when the statue was getting transferred, the ropes broke, which resulted in the drop of the statue.
