Quite popular and common, a visit to the Sabarmati Ashram<\/a> is one of the top things to do in Ahmedabad. This place was Gandhiji\u2019s and Kasturba Bai’s humble abode in the days of the national struggle against the British colonial government. The museum, Gandhi Smarak Sangrahalaya, established here has preserved a detailed and informative record of Mahatma Gandhi’s life and teachings.<\/p>\n

Located on the banks of the Sabarmati River, and named after it, you can attend a guided walking tour through the museum to thoroughly understand the history of the independence movement and Gandhi’s role in it. The museum was integrated by the erstwhile Prime Minister Nehruji in 1951 and has numerous galleries and even a library within.<\/p>\n
