Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen is one of the royal temples in Phasi Charoen district, Bangkok, near the Chao Phraya River. It is a Maha Nikaya Sangha member and the Dhammakaya Tradition’s chief originator. The temple was originally built in 1610 during the Ayutthaya period and was supported by the Siamese Kings until the end of the nineteenth century. It is a big and mainly used temple that belongs to a wealthy community of pilgrims.<\/p>\n

Among the monuments is the Wat Pak Nam Temple, which houses the sixty-nine-metre-high bronze Buddha statue that is made entirely of bronze. This is Bangkok’s tall Buddha statue, draped in a meditation pose similar to Luang Pu Sodh\u2019s meditation method.<\/p>\n

The statue measures 40 metres wide at its lap and is enclosed by a white stupa known as Maharatchamongkhon with a 12-sided polygon shape with five levels at 80 metres in height. The 8-metre emerald glass Stupa on the top floor of the structure harbours the Buddha\u2019s relics, and a psychedelic ceiling is painted in bold colours. The temple also has a lot of beautiful statues, from a large, finely dressed Buddha sitting on three elephants to a reclining Buddha facing the river.<\/p>\n
