This perennial waterfall is not only for sightseeing but also has an interesting history. Legend has it that during Lord Rama\u2019s exile in Ramayana, his wife, Lady Sita, was abducted by the Demon King Ravana as revenge. Both Lord Rama and his brother Laxmana set out on foot to search for Sita. On their way, when Lord Rama asked for water, his brother looked for it. However, unable to find a water source, he shot an arrow at the top of the Brahmagiri Hills, from which cool and clear water gushed. This is the origin of the waterfall in Coorg.<\/p>\n

It is deemed a holy and auspicious place, and people often dip into the waters of this waterfall to wash away their sins and find solace in life. The Rameshwara Temple is also a site tourists visit. Lord Rama himself speculates the Shivaling inside the temple. People pray at the temple first and then go to the waterfall.<\/p>\n
