Cauvery Nisargadhama is a group of small and big islands in the Cauvery River close to Kushalnagar town. Founded in 1989, it has drawn tourists for many years for its various attractions. A hanging bridge leads to the 64-acre island, which is surrounded by the Cauvery River. The old hanging bridge, which once gave the Nisargadhama a rustic charm, has been retired due to its instability, and a new bridge has been constructed next to it. The Nisargadhama Bird Park is an exquisite picnic area with good coverage of greenery that includes teak, sandalwood, bamboo groves, and charming riverside cottages. The Nisargadhama Bird Park is one of Coorg’s most famous tourist spots. A trip to Coorg will be complete only with a visit to the Nisargadhama Bird Park. It is surrounded by dense forests, thereby making it habitable for both native and migratory birds. While walking around this Park, you will be introduced to the chirps and songs of various birds. There is an aviary of exotic birds like Green-cheeked Conure, Macaw (blue & gold), Cockatoos and Grey Parrot. They also have swans, ducks, turkeys, and different types of chicken, such as silkie chicken, Guineafowls, etc. They also have a feeding area which contains various trained parrots. These birds will rest and eat the seeds provided from your outstretched hand. It is a surreal experience to have these magnificent creatures eat out of your hand.<\/p>\n

Since the Nisargadhama Bird Park is inside the Kaveri Nisargadhama, you should first pay the entry fees of Rs. 20 for adults and Rs. 10 for children as entry fees. As you walk into the Nisargadhama Bird Park, there is another entry fee of Rs.30. If you want to feed the birds, you have to pay another Rs. 30. To take pictures alongside the exotic birds, you should pay Rs. 60.<\/p>\n
