These ghats serve as a platform for devotees and tourists who come here to take a dip in the river, wishing it would wash away all their sins. It is similar to Har ki Paidi in Haridwar, which is a flight of steps near the Saryu River, Ayodhya where huge crowds of tourists and devotees take a bath in the sacred waters of the ancient river. Ram ki Paidi is a series of paid or steps on Nayaghat where tourists and devotees take a dip in the holy waters. A new ghat with the paidis or steps was built by the joint effort of the then Chief Minister of UP and the irrigation minister between 1984 and 1985.<\/p>\n<p>It is open 24 hours, all day, for visitors and tourists.
