Ram ki Paidi<\/strong> is a series of ghats along the banks of the Saryu River. The riverfront brings along a spectacular landscape, especially during high-tide, lit nights. These ghats serve as a platform for devotees and tourists who come here to take a dip in the river, wishing it would wash away all their sins. It is similar to Har ki Paidi in Haridwar, which is a flight of steps near the Saryu River, Ayodhya where huge crowds of tourists and devotees take a bath in the sacred waters of the ancient river. The original steps (paidis) were washed away as time went by due to torrential rains and strong river currents.<\/em><\/p>\n

Ram Ki Paidi are the ghats built at the banks between 1984 and 1985. There are full-size bathing ghats along the river Sarayu and at Nayaghat as well, which have now disappeared due to extreme rainfall. Water within the steps is being removed from Sarayu and taken through Motor Pumps. If you are visiting the city of Ayodhya, then it will be incomplete without taking a view of the Saryu River.<\/p>\n

It is located around 3 km from Ayodhya Junction along the river Saryu. It is one of several ghats along the banks of the holy river and among the top sightseeing attractions in the city. Ram ki Paidi is a series of paid or steps on Nayaghat where tourists and devotees take a dip in the holy waters. A new ghat with the paidis or steps was built by the joint effort of the then Chief Minister of UP and the irrigation minister between 1984 and 1985.<\/p>\n

It is open 24 hours, all day, for visitors and tourists. The evening Arti at Ram Ki Paidi starts at around 5 pm to 6 pm. They also organize a laser show in the evening at around 7:30 pm.<\/p>\n

It is a 108 ft tall multi-storeyed temple with 84 pillars, spanning over 2 acres. The foundation stone was laid in 1984. The current deities in the temple are Sri Sri Gaur Nitai, Sri Sri Ram Janaki Lakshman, Sri Sri Radha Banke Bihariji and Hanumanji.
