Buddha attained enlightenment in 500 BCE while meditating underneath this tree for seven weeks without moving an inch from his position. Convicts and enemies of the state were thrown in the fires that emanated from within the well, earning it the name \u2018fiery well\u2019 and \u2018hell on earth\u2019.
