TripAdvisor has released its annual Travellers\u2019 Choice awards for \u201cDestinations on the Rise,\u201d and Ishigaki, which is known for its pearl-white sandy beaches and the finest diving spots, has been named the most trending destination in the world for 2026.<\/p>\n

TA used an algorithm that takes into account the quantity as well as the quality of reviews and ratings of the hotels, restaurants, and attractions in destinations all over the world, that are gathered over a 12-month period.<\/p>\n

Known among professional snorkelers and divers for its diving spots, mangrove forests, and the rare coral reefs.<\/p>\n

You may have never heard of this stunning archipelago of Japan, but it is the main island of the Yaeyama Islands in Japan\u2019s Okinawa Prefecture, which is known among professional snorkelers and divers for its diving spots, mangrove forests, and the rare coral reefs.<\/p>\n

Ishigaki is also a food heaven, and mostly known for its speciality Yaeyama soba noodles, which according to TripAdvisor, are made of flour instead of the traditional buckwheat.<\/p>\n

The number of visitors to Okinawa increased from 10.5% to 8.77 million in 2016. And this, eventually compares to the 8.93 million tourists that went to Hawaii in the same year.<\/p>\n

The island has been crowned as Hawaii and Bali, and international tourism here has been growing faster than anybody had ever expected.
