In fact, even China is showing interest in visiting here, according to a study. In its \u2018<strong>2017 Inbound Travel Study<\/strong>\u2019, TripAdvisor disclosed that international travel interest into India is on the rise.<!--more--> According to the findings, travelers from <strong>China<\/strong> were the <strong>largest group<\/strong> indicating an year-over-year interest where Indian destinations were concerned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s encouraging that we are seeing growth not just from Asian countries but from <strong>long-haul inbound markets<\/strong>, underscoring India\u2019s attractiveness as a destination globally. The data shows that travelers are also keen to explore places that are not usual for the international market, and they are looking for a wide variety of experiences on their visit which bodes well for our tourism industry,\u201d said Mr. Nikhil Ganju, Country Manager at TripAdvisor India.<\/p>\n<p>The data showed that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>More and more travelers are writing reviews, eat as well as see in India<\/li>\n<li>Most of these <strong>reviews<\/strong> <strong>are positive<\/strong>!<\/li>\n<li>In 2017, India received a record high of more than 10 million (over 1 crore) Foreign Tourist Arrivals (15.2% increase in FTAs)<\/li>\n<li>This has brought an earning of over $27 billion<\/li>\n<li>Foreign exchange earnings went up by 20.2%<\/li>\n<li>The tourism sector is now contributing 6.88% to India\u2019s total GDP<\/li>\n<li>It has also boosted employment rate in India by 12.36%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.traveltriangle.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/radhanagar-beach-in-havelock-andaman.jpg\" alt=\"radhanagar beach in havelock, andaman\" width=\"700\" height=\"471\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-96786\" \/><\/div>\n<p>On examining TripAdvisor site data to find which markets had the largest increases in share of online traffic between October 2015 and September 2016 as compared to that between October 2016 and September 2017, it was found that <strong>Asian countries<\/strong> account for <strong>6 of the top 10 markets<\/strong> exhibiting an increase in the share of visitor sessions looking at Indian destinations.<\/p>\n<p>The country-wise year-on-year growth in interest (in percentages) for Indian destinations is as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>China &#8211; 134%<\/li>\n<li>Bangladesh &#8211; 60%<\/li>\n<li>Singapore &#8211; 57%<\/li>\n<li>Thailand &#8211; 20%<\/li>\n<li>Japan &#8211; 16%<\/li>\n<li>Malaysia &#8211; 12%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That\u2019s not all. The increase in interest from long-haul markets signal even healthier inbound travel trends for India. These destinations include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Netherlands &#8211; 10%<\/li>\n<li>Canada &#8211; 10%<\/li>\n<li>Russia &#8211; 9%<\/li>\n<li>United Kingdom &#8211; 9%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.traveltriangle.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/arunachal-pradesh-tibetan-monastery.jpg\" alt=\"arunachal pradesh tibetan monastery\" width=\"700\" height=\"444\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-96785\" \/><\/div>\n<p>And when it comes to the top Indian states that are seeing the highest growth, <strong>Andaman<\/strong> <strong>and Nicobar<\/strong> <strong>Islands<\/strong> seemed to have won international travelers\u2019 hearts. <strong>Andaman<\/strong> topped the list with a 25.1%, followed by <strong>Bihar<\/strong> at 12.3%, <strong>Arunachal<\/strong> <strong>Pradesh<\/strong> at 9.1%, <strong>Kerala<\/strong> at 7.4%, and <strong>Mizoram<\/strong> at 6.8%, among others.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>As India is adding more feathers to its hat, it\u2019s upon us to help maintain it as a flourishing tourist destination.
