Any Kutch travel guide will mention the best time to visit the Rann of Kutch in December on a full moon night. This is the time when the white sands seem to merge with the skies and become seamless.
The best time to visit Kutch is when Rann of Kutch Festival is going on. Rann of Kutch in September can be an amazing sight as the post-monsoon waters transform the otherwise barren landscape. Night temperatures in Rann of Kutch in October begin to dip with the onset of winter.
The Rann of Kutch is a salty marshland in the southern part of the Thar Desert. The word Rann is a Hindi word having roots in the Sanskrit word ‘Irina’ which means desert. The Rann of Kutch spreads across Gujrat and the Sindh region of Pakistan. Spread over 30000 sq km, this Rann is divided into two parts, The Little Rann of Kutch and the Banni grassland. This is considered to be one of the largest salt deserts in the world, with temperatures consistently high throughout the year.
Let's look at the best time to visit the Rann of Kutch season-wise:
Climate in Kutch
Summer Season in Kutch
Summer (April-June): The desert is not the place to be during the summer months. The sun beats down on the land mercilessly turning it hot with temperatures touching 50 degree Celsius. The nights are comparatively cooler. But with not vegetation to offer any kind of relief, this land is not for summer travels.
Monsoon Season in Kutch
Monsoon (June-September): The rains arrive here at the end of June and last till September. Though it is not torrential, but the rains are still a welcome relief from the heat. The parched land begins to blossom with the Banni Grasslands and surrounding areas beginning to turn green. A lot of migratory birds arrive here and it is a sight for sore eyes, making it the best time to visit Kutch Gujarat. There are many sanctuaries across Kutch which are safe havens to the local varieties of wild life such as the wild Ass. This land is a treasure trove for wildlife photographers and nature enthusiasts and a visit to the sanctuaries is a must. This is Best Season To Visit Kutch.
Winter Season in Kutch
Winter (November-February): This is when the dessert comes alive in a thousand hues. This is the time for the Rann of Kutch festival. A display of the culture of the desert tribes, the full moon nights during this time come alive with music and dance. Bonfires across the sand dunes echo with the strains of song, making this the Best Season To Visit Kutch. The temperatures can drop to single digits and the days, though hot, are pleasant. Horseback rides and camel rides across the Rann are an ever popular activity, but you can also hire an ATV or go para-motoring too. The festival is the best time to visit Kutch Gujarat.

Rajendra's 6 days trip to KutchGUJRAT TRIP from 9 to 14 Feb 2020 : We have booked 6D/5N trip for 6 Sr Citizens from 9 Feb to 14 Feb 2020 through TT / DH . The over all trip has been good & we visited Ahmedabad , Jamnager , Dwarka , Bet Dwarka , Porbandar , Somnath & Diu . The Driver Mr Bharat Bhai has been very co-operative & caring . Hotel Carrefour at Ahmedabad & Rainbow Resort at DIU were good . Hotel The Grand Dwraka in Dwarka & Hotel Heritage in Veraval - Somnath were average . Mr Amin Mansuri from Diu Holidays did good planning for the trip & most of our concerns raised during booking / after booking were properly addressed by him so that our trip has been executed properly without any issue . DH Mr Mansuri should be more responsive in attending phone calls / replying whats app messages in time . In TT , trip guide kept on changing ( Ms. Himani Dhami to Mr Jayant Singh ) & convenience fee of Rs.500/ charged by TT could be known only at the time of making payment against payment invoice of DH/TT ( TT fee should have been shown / included at the time of submitting offers by the Agents of DH ). Amrutha's 6 days trip to KutchThis was my first time travel with KBG. My package was for Gujarat. Firstly I would like to mention that the agent that I spoke with, Gaganpreet is very very patient. I have asked her to change itinerary for me atleast 100 times and not once did she crib or say no! I had asked for minimum 3 star rooms and I got fabulous rooms throughout my stay, at Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Bhuj. The schedule, rooms, itinerary was made according to my preference. The driver that we got was really friendly, and joyful, that was the best part about the trip! Overall, a great experience, will definitely be travelling again with KBG. Tent city at Rann Utsav and Rann Riders at Dasada.

Amarpal's 11 days trip to KutchOur tour was for 11 days,11 persons all senior citizens. De voyager excellent agents. One or two hotels so so overall tour very gud. We enjoyed the tour Hotels in diu Ahmadabad really gud
Pankaj's 10 days trip to KutchWe booked our Gujrat trip of 11 days and 12 nights with De Voyager and Payal was very helpful in planning of our trip and arranging the Cab and preparing the itinerary. We had only two issues: 1. We asked for booking Rann Utsav Tent city in Rann of Kutch but just a day before the start of our trip we were told that they cannot book Tent city for us as it was fully booked and rather they have booked White Rann Resort which disappointed us. 2. The Hotel Bait Inn in Ahmedabad was not at all a 3 Start hotel, the rooms were too small and there were no basic items like Soap, Dental/Shaving kit and water provided in the hotel rooms, We were given the soap after we asked the room service. Very disappointed with this hotel, please avoid staying in this hotel if you can. Overall the trip was excellent and our Cab driver Harshbhai was a gentleman and very nice person, he was very helpful and took care of us throughout our trip. I would definitely recommend Travel Triangle and De Voyager to my friends.
Nicks's 4 days trip to KutchOn Day-2 sufficient time was given for recreational activities at resort. But only one small area having carrom, chess etc. was there. I wish there would have been some more of activities other than what we generally use. It would have been better if trip include Bhuj sightseeing on Day-2, as Gandhi hu Gam & Kalo Dungar were not that attractive as a tourist in my opinion. Or, Travel Triangle could suggest tourists for drop at or after 6:30PM on last day to cover Bhuj sightseeing confortable. We booked ticket for train departing on 3:55PM & were not able to cover Bhuj sightseeing. Mandvi trip was very memorable as my 2year old baby enjoyed beach time for 1st time.

Gujarat is renowned for being a dry state, meaning alcohol is banned in the state. It is not advised for travellers to purchase liquor illegally in Gujarat. However, there are some designated high-end hotels that sell alcohol to permit holders. A permit can be acquired from the officials by showing a valid identity proof.
