About Temples In Tamil Nadu

Temples in Tamil Nadu are as glorious as forts in Rajasthan. Two of the world heritage sites in Tamil Nadu – Great Living Chola Temples and Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram – features up to 1000 years old temples in Tamil Nadu. The Brihadisvara Temple at Thanjavur, Airavatesvara Temple complex and Airavateshwara Temple at Darasuram are some among the biggest temples in Tamil Nadu. The state of Tamil Nadu is dotted with temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Murugan.

Make sure to visit temples in Mahabalipuram along the Coromandel Coast, just a few hours from Chennai. These group of temples and monuments, dating back to the 7th century Pallava rulers, are arguably the most famous temples in Tamil Nadu.
