Desert in UAE

Western Asia is home to the Arabian Desert, parts of which are in the UAE. The Rub'al-Khali, which is in the center of the Arabian Desert and covers some parts of the UAE, is one of the largest continuous bodies of sand in the world. There are several species that have made this dry landscape their home, such as sand cats, lizards, oryx and gazelles. The desert eco system is a delicate one, and in UAE, continuous encroachment by humans is actually destroying the desert, slowly but surely.
