You will find that the people of Kerala are warm and welcoming. Their language, art, architecture and culture as a whole intrigues all outsiders.

If you are tired of a busy, mundane and hum-drum life in the streets of Mumbai or any other nearby city and change is what you are looking for then check out our Kerala Honeymoon Packages from Mumbai. Make beautiful memories with your partner and leave the rest to us. Find out more about what Kerala has to offer such as places to visit, best time to visit and how to reach Kerala from Mumbai.

Ideal Duration

Although the ideal duration of any honeymoon depends entirely on the couple and their schedule, there are however, some possibilities and limitations similar to every honeymoon. Most of Kerala Honeymoon Packages from Mumbai offer a typical stay of 4 Nights and 5 Days. This duration seems sufficient to visit most of the famous and near-by tourist spots. However, this can become a little too overwhelming. Therefore, opting for a package that offers 6 Nights and 7 Days stay at Kerala can be a better option. This way you can visit not just the nearby, famous tourist spots but also visit some of the far off districts as well as villages in the remote reaches of Kerala.

Best time to visit

Winter Season (September to March)

This season is the best season to visit Kerala. The weather is cool and manageable. As Kerala is a hot and humid state, winter is the season to go for. Most Kerala Honeymoon Packages from Mumbai will offer to take you to Kerala during this season as the wedding season coincides with the peak season at Kerala. You can expect a good crowd in Kerala during this time. This means that hotel prices are sure to drop down.

Summer Season (April to May)

Summer is not the best time to visit Kerala as the temperature reaches its peak and becomes unbearable. This is definitely the off season in Kerala and therefore, if you are planning a trip to Kerala during summers, you need not worry about the hotels and resorts being booked. You must, however, keep in mind that the hotel prices are sure to hike up. In addition to the extreme temperature, you can also expect intermittent rainfall.

Monsoon Season (June to August)

Needless to say, this season brings overwhelming rainfall along with it. Kerala gets more gorgeous with monsoon; the lush greenery becomes richer, rivers overflow in elegance and the temperature is also comfortable. One might say that Kerala is the most beautiful with the advent of the monsoons. However, you must keep in mind that most beaches remain out of bounds during monsoon due to the heavy tides and strong winds.

How to Reach

There are a plethora of ways available through which you can cover the 1,231 km distance between Mumbai and Kerala. The option you choose depends upon your budget as well as time constraint. Air travel may cost the most (depending upon when you book the tickets) but offer a short duration of travel.

By flight

There are a number of flights that operate between Kerala and Mumbai. It takes approximately 2 hrs to cover the distance and the flight fares can range anywhere between 2000 to 5000 INR. Most Kerala Honeymoon Packages from Mumbai offer to pick you up from the airport. In case they don’t, you can easily book cabs from outside the airport.

By train

You will find direct trains from Mumbai to Kerala such as Indian Railways and Mumbai Suburban Railway. The journey will last approximately 32 hrs and can cost you anywhere between 5000 and 7000 INR. As you can see, the rate is not very different from flight fares and therefore opting to go via air might be a better option.

By road

A road trip to Kerala not only sounds exciting, it truly is a mesmerising experience. You can expect to cover the journey approximately within 22 hrs if you do not take rest stops in between. You can travel via a private car or by bus such as Red Bus. The journey will cost you INR 5 per kilometer. Make sure to pack some good snacks for the way.

Ashish's 5 days trip to Kerala

We recently spent 6N and 7 days vacation memorable trip in Kerela. I got a very customized package from TT that suits to me and my wife. hotels and breakfast was awesome which we liked very much. The only problems we faced with unprofessional drivers. Kerela is a tourist place where whatever amount you spend on activities and other things you have to rely on your driver who has little commission. On our trip to Munnar, I checked in at the hotel around 8 pm which we didn't like. I would recommend fellow travelers to Just fix the time before they plan their day in and day out on vacation.

Jitendrasingh's 7 days trip to Kerala

Everything was ok, except hotel isola de coco. I was told while booking that it is in kovalam, but it was in Poovar just adjacent to the one which I stayed for previous days. Even the itinerary mention it in kovalam. It is a kind of misguidance on Agents part because when I visited kovalam, it’s totally a different place and not same as Poovar as told by travel agent. Last resort in Munnar (Exilir) was very bad, that was not a five star property, rather it can not be given 3 star. Food was so low quality, stinky room with stinky toilets. It is only when I asked staff to change my room , they took initiative. Rameshwaram was incredible, Munnar teas estate is something lifetime visit

Interesting 5 days through the nature of Kerala. Nice driver and houseboat crew, one of the best meals on the houseboat. Car and houseboat under expectations (or we would have upgraded if we had known), hotels very good but our own choice and upgraded. all in all a good experience!

Shiva's 5 days trip to Kerala

Agency booking for hotels : Overall its not promising as i had specifically requested to have bookings done near munnar and Thekkady. They have booked 12 to 15 kms away from Munnar which has caused a lot of inconvienience to travel morning and evening . I have asked them to book near by hotels they have not taken into consideration Driver and Car: Excellent driver and shown the places but it would have been better if he was given more instructions of places to visit. which was missing Hotel in Munnar : i was the only guest in the hotel and charges are more per day. no provision for lunch on the day of check in. we had to travel 10 kms for lunch as its far away from city. Hotel in Thekkaday : Same story far away from Thekkady . it could have been better if we were given room in Thekkady as tthis is off season. House boat in Allepey : worst 2 bed room not cleaned , it was very old boat and cleaning was not done from Dream waters. Maintainence is very poor. after i have gone there i have seen other better house boats at same price. this is worst. But the caretakers service was good . Massage was very bad. house boat has tied up with Massage center in the village. it was not worthy for the money.

Tips For Travellers

  • As most honeymoon packages last 1 to 2 weeks, do not carry very heavy luggage. Make sure that you carry all the necessary items such as comfortable clothing (warm or cool depending upon the weather of the destination), a good camera, medicines (if necessary) and toiletries. However, do not pack in excess as it would become difficult for you to travel with heavy luggage.
  • Make sure that you take prior consent from the necessary authorities to visit the National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries. Also, wear comfortable sneakers and clothes while visiting such places.
