About Sonamarg in Srinagar

Also known as the “Meadow of Gold”, Sonamarg is an elevated area on the bank of Nallah Sindh River. Amazing glaciers, placid lakes and exquisite waterfalls add to the beauty of Sonamarg in Srinagar and make this place one of the most visited places among tourists. Located at an altitude of 2740 m above the sea level, and situated at the foot of Zojila pass, it is also best known as the gateway to Ladakh. This place is also quite famous among excursionists and globetrotters. Some of the famous nearby places that you can visit include Zojila pass, Yusmarg, Glaciers of Thajiwas, Krishna Nagar Lake, Nilagrad, and Baltal.
