Boating At Gadisar Lake in Jaisalmer

The Gadisar Lake is one of the top most popular attractions in Jaisalmer. While a visit to the lake is enough to soothe your mind, boating here is one thing that will make your experience even more blissful. It’s a perfect activity to indulge in, especially for nature admirers, photography enthusiasts, and experience seekers.

This man-made reservoir was built way back in the year 1367 by Maharawal Gadsi Singh, after whom the lake has been named. It is situated near the Tillon ki Gate, and Jaisalmer Fort, and is environed with a number of shrines and pavilions, which add to the charm of this beautiful lake. This spot has also been the shooting location for Bollywood movies such as Sarfarosh, and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.

The lake stays open on all days of the week from 7 am to 7 pm. Also, boating in Gadisar Lake costs INR 100 for a two-seater pedal boat, INR 200 for a four-seater pedal boat, and INR 300 for a six-seater pedal boat.

Whether you’re visiting with your partner, friends, or family, make sure you stop here for an hour to savor the spectacular surroundings during your boat ride. s to improve There was mis match with voucher that was given to me and the voucher hotel has received at Jaipur. They had information only about 6 persons accordingly they booked three double bed rooms where had to manage 9 people with extra bed in each room. Hotel Grand UDDHAV at Udaipur was excellent and they had made the arrangement as per 9 persons stay. Staff manager room boy were good. Travel Agent has provided guide only for first day which was complimentary to us as informed to me by the Driver. This information was not provided to me. We missed major spot ie Jantar Mantar due to poor coordination between Driver and Guide. Overall it was a great experience.

Hotels: While other hotels were decent, experience at The Lighthouse in Jaipur was bad. First they tried to push us to some other hotel and we had to be at reception for several minutes. Then quality of linen was bad. It was dirty and we had to request to change entire set. Sheets and covers weren

't washed and stinking. Rating for Jaipur hotel is 2 out of 5. Hotels in Agra, Mathura, Udaipur and Jodhpur were good. No complaints. Cab: Cab was in decent condition and driver was polite. But driver was inexperienced in tourism. He didn't know the routes and was trying to drop us far before the monuments, while other vehicles were going much closer. We had to walk a lot with small kids. Travel Agent: Travel Agent was decent. They created a WhatsApp group and responded to our needs in timely manner. Jodhpur and Agra were good.
