How to Reach Sentosa

A direct flight from Delhi (DEL) to Singapore (SIN) takes about 5 hours 30 minutes to reach. Air India, Jet Airways, and Garuda Indonesia are some of the airlines with good connectivity between Singapore and India. One can opt for a free shuttle bus to reach Sentosa Island from Singapore. One can also hire a taxi to directly reach Sentosa Island from Changi Airport or take the MRT or a bus to reach Sentosa.

Singapore to Sentosa Island is conveniently connected by way of motorboats, cable car and road. The island offers numerous modes of transportation both to the island and in it. Reaching Sentosa is very convenient, and the island itself is accessible to all. You can either take the public transport or use a personal or rented vehicle to get around in Sentosa.

Here are the ways you can get to the Island city of Sentosa.

By Air

To take a tour of Sentosa, one must visit the island through Singapore. The closest airport to Sentosa is Changi Airport in Singapore. One can book a flight to Singapore from major airports in India and take the preferred mode of transportation. There are taxis, trains and also a free shuttle bus to Sentosa connecting Changi airport Singapore to Sentosa Island.

By Train

The easiest method is to reach Changi Airport by air and take the MRT to reach the Harbourfront station. To reach Harbourfront one has to take the Green line from Tanah Merah Station. After that one needs to get down at Outram Park and take the Purple line to Harbourfront.

Sentosa Express is the monorail service that connects Singapore to Sentosa Island. You can take the MRT on the North-East (Purple) line or the Circle line and get down at the Harbourfront Station. From thereon, one can take the Sentosa Express from the 3rd level of the VivoCity Shopping Mall (Lobby L). The Sentosa Express ticket or the Sentosa Pass will cost 4 SGD. The fee covers the Sentosa Express ticket and the Island admission fee.

By Road

Since 2015, the opening of the India-Myanmar-Thailand has made it possible to reach Singapore through road from India. The 6000+ km journey will take about 200 hours to complete owing to the traffic, road conditions and custom and border checks one has to pass, making the road journey inconvenient. For people who still want to take this route from India, one has to first reach Siliguri in West Bengal, and from thereon one can head towards Thailand from Moreh in Manipur passing through the whole stretch of Myanmar to Myawaddy. After entering Thailand, one can easily head towards Malaysia and reach Singapore and then head to Sentosa.

Alternatively, one can get to Singapore by air and from there, head towards Sentosa Island. Sentosa Island has a well-functioning public transport system. The bus service connects the city of Singapore to Sentosa Island. The bus ticket is all you need to pay, and there is no additional island admission charge. One can take bus no. 123 from central Singapore and from all major MRT stations including Tiong Bahru and Orchard. You can also take buses 65, 80, 93, 188, 855, 10, 30, 97, 100, 131, 143, 145 and 166 to reach the VivoCity.

One can get to Sentosa Island by a taxi, or you can use your private car or hire vehicle. An extra charge is levied on taxis and cars entering the island.

I chose Travel Triangle because someone suggested me. I heard good reviews for them. I agree but upto a certain extent. Before booking, they will call you or reach out to you 10 times a day but once booking is done they don't care whether they reply in one day, two days or three days. There were cer

tain things for which I had to chase them but was not satisfied with their answers. They will provide you an itinerary at the time of booking, you will plan your trip according to that but just 2 days before they will shuffle everything and will say it is what it is. My flight was supposed to land at 8:15 in the morning and the hotel check in was at 2:00 PM. Earlier they assured that I will get an early check in but two days before they said it's upon availability. Check in is at 2:00 PM and they scheduled a sight seeing pickup at 2:30 PM sharp because it is what it is. Before booking i was promised that the hotel serves Jain meal but the hotel clearly denied about that upon reaching there. I was told that the hotel is 4 star but it didn't seemed to be. The superior size room was way too smaller for 3 people. Food was not at all good at the property. I would really appreciate the ground team for all the arrangements they did. I would say that overall experience was good but you need to be very much sure about everything before booking because after that they will say It is what it is as if they don't care about our concern.
