About Wat Arun in Bangkok
Wat Arun, a beautiful and popular tourist hot spot of Bangkok, is much famed for its religious significance. It is located alongside the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. Wat Arun Bangkok is also known as Wat Chaeng by the locals and is set against one of the most scenic views on the Thonburi bank of the Chao Phraya River. Being such a huge tourist hotspot, Wat Arun is also quite accessible by rivers and roads alike. The temple is lit by traditional lanterns every night, which makes for a uniquely soulful experience.
The Wat Arun temple has been a fascinating tourist spot for many generations. The temple’s spire is over seventy meters high and the superb craftsmanship of the temple itself is one to behold. The spire itself is decorated with shards of colored glass and Chinese porcelain to form delicate, surreal patterns. The shuttle boat ride across the Chao Phraya River is one of the most epic things to do here and it is located opposite to Wat Pho, which is another remarkable Buddhist temple.
