Beautiful is just one word to describe the place. We traveled from Chandigarh to Jammu to Srinagar And then Kargil and finally Leh. The whole route by road is a bit tiresome but all along the route the mountainous journey is an experience in itself. Snow covered mountains and roads, narrow passes and beautiful valleys are present along the route. The boat house in Srinagar and local markets are a steal. Lots of places to visit in and around srinagar. Kargil has an impressive army outpost and the memorial is a must visit for any tourist. There are decent hotels at all these places and the traditional food and drinks are a must. The journey to Leh from Srinagar takes a day depending on the conditions. Sometimes there is a halt in between due to the weather. The journey to Leh is as beautiful as described in the pictures and blogs of various tourists. If possible, adventurers should do a bike trip to Leh. It is an experience of a lifetime.
