My requirement to Rocking Trip was clearly that I need only 5* hotels because hotel rooms is very important to my wife and also this was my honeymoon so I did not hesitate spending extra bucks to make this special. My initial request was for 3* & 4* hotels and I received quote of Rs 44,400 for that from Rocking Trips. I had offers from other vendors as well and from Make my trip as well but I trusted Rocking Trips somehow and did not pay heed to rest of the quotes. Looking at the hotels, I decided I would go for higher starred hotels so I asked Rocking trip to upgrade their quote with 5* hotels. I received a revised quote for Rs 69,500 (I paid Rs 88,200, including flight fare). Diffence is Rs 25000. Nowhere, I negotiated on cost, because I did not want to compromise on quaity. I was so busy during the time we were discussing the quotes that I did not notice that the new quote only had two hotels changed, which was for the first 3 days (I checked this on my email once we started having problems, my bad). I had a wonderful time in initial 3 days in Kerala, however, the problem started from the 4th day when we checked in to the Houseboat. Houseboat was too old and below average. Every other houseboat looked far better than ours. We contacted about the issue with Akshay from Rocking Trips and we were shifted another houseboat which was equally bad. Food served on boat seemed to be cooked before and kept in hot case. Same vegetable was served in the night. Was served rice in lunch with topping of ants on it. We ordered for cake, candle light dinner and flowery bed. Cake was so bad that we gave it back and candle light dinner was with flies all around. In the morning, our room had net of spider webs. There were rats that kept making noise througout the night to keep us awke. We did not complain with the houseboat guy because he was trying his best to deliver but this is not something we expected from Rocking Trips after paying this much money for a trip in India. Next was Hotel at Kovalam, again very average and cramped hotel. There were many hotels on the beach or around which had better interiors than our hotel. When we complained about the hotels and suggested a good hotel at Kovalam, I was asked if I can pay extra Rs 2500 then we would be shifted to that hotel (Common!). Then we moved to hotel at Kanyakumari. I think this was the farthest hotel from the beach. I have no compalins about the distance because we had car but the view. Hotel was inside a small lane and it was surrounded by local houses. We reached around noon and were hungry so asked for food and we were told that they do not have a restaurant. Even soap and shampoos were provided only after we called. There was water kettle but no tea bags or sugar. When I asked for tea bags I was handed over Green tea and sugar wrapped in a tissue paper. Our plan included breakfast in the morning so they brought it some local outlet nearby, eating which we had our stomach upset. This is fault of Rocking Trips who simply wanted to make as much money out of this that they forgot to book decent hotels. My honeymoon has been ruined because of last 4 days and I am not sure if something can be done by Travel Triangle to avoid such froad or maybe I should have opted for make my trip. Unless I have some assurance, I am not booking from Travel Triangle again. Even with all the harm done, I would like to appreciate following things: - The Driver Praveen, who was amazing companion and well behaved driver - Hotel at Munnar and Thekkady (Exceptionally good, and that is what my expectation was for the rest of hotels)
