We, a family of four visited Jim Corbett from 28 to 30 December 2017. The trip was planned well in advance (in September 2017). We did our hotel booking, transport etc. through Trip sailer.com via Travel Triangle. In fact many other travel agencies had offered their services, but we opted for Trip sailer, as it is a well-known agency. But our experience with Tripsailer.com was not pleasant.
We had requested a family suite with two rooms. But when we reached the hotel – the Corbett Treat Resort, we found a family suite with one room was booked for us. It was early morning and after lot of effort we could speak to Ms. Prabha of Trip Sailer, who was handling our trip. Her reply pained us. First she said she is not able to locate our mail requesting for two rooms. We forwarded the mail. Then she conveniently said it was a communication gap and left us to fend for ourselves. There was something more – Tripsailer had mailed us to pay Rs. 7000 to Corbett Treat Resort (CTR), while CTR told us that they have received a communication to collect Rs. 8960 from us.
We reached the resort at 6.00 AM and by 2.00 PM we were still at the reception, waiting for a response from Trip sailercom. Mr. Kapil Mehta, General Manager, Corbett Treat Resort, who was watching all this came forward to help us. First he offered us something to eat and arranged a cottage with two rooms. We also agreed to pay for the extra room.
In the meantime we tried to speak to Ms. Prabha, but she kept on saying she has to consult her boss. We also told her that another group who had booked accommodation through Trip sailer also had a dispute in the Corbett Treat Resort in the morning, but she said that the booking was done not by her but by one of her colleague. The point she missed was both of them represent Trip sailer. Finally around 4.30 PM we got a mail from from Trip Sailer who informed that we need to pay Rs. 7000 for one (family) room. By that time it was already late and we lost the whole day. We had to pay for the second room.
We found the Trip sailer representative very indifferent, non-cooperative and conveniently shying away from responsibility. She was so rigid to defend her stand that she even did not explore if one more room was available in Corbett Treat Resort or whether we were ready to pay for the second room. I don’t mind spending few bucks extra for comfort. But certainly hate to be cheated. We have availed the services of travel agencies earlier, but never had such a bad experience. Now I will think twice before approaching a travel agency to book my trip.
The Corbett Treat Resort is a nice resort. Mr. Kapil Mehta is a wonderful person. He and his entire team was very helpful and took good care of us. Food was superb. Our stay there was comfortable. Thumps up to CTR. I strongly recommend CTR. But book your accommodation directly with CTR, you will get better bargain.
Our experience with Trip sailer was so painful that I never wanted to write review. However Travel Triangle has been requesting for a review. I sincerely hope that Travel Triangle and Trip sailer.com would take care so that such things do not happen again.
