Corbett on a long Christmas Weekend arrranged by Trip Sailer - Dec'17
RESORT (Corbett Treat Resort, Village Dehala)--
Rooms: Good
Food: Great
Facilities at Resort: As per our budget, quite good
Hospitality: Amazing
CAB (Tempo Traveller)--
Comfort: Ok
Driver: Rude and Arrogant
Coordination: Poor
we were blackmailed by the driver (apparently who was the owner of the cab company who had to step in for the missing driver) innumerous times that he would leave without us if he doesn't get the money in time. We had to spend considerable amount of time to coordinate that he gets paid and at the end had to pay from our pocket, a portion of which has still not been reimbursed to us even after a week of the trip
Jungle Safari-- (Sitabani Forest)
Experience: Worst
Coordination: Poor
We booked the trip, hotel, safari etc as a package almost a month back, yet no initiative was taken by the agent to help us get a good experience of the safari. We were informed about the exact safari track only the previous night and taken to the most populous track, where more than 90-100 jeeps were completing the safari simultaneously. We were informed that this track is generally last minute tourists or those who book the resorts/hotels themselves and are unaware of the fact that other tracks, which are not only less congested but also more beautiful , with higher chances of spotting the fauna can be booked online, merely few days in advance. Basically, there was no benefit of having a 'travel expert' to our aid.
Overall Coordination:
We agree that we changed the number of travellers after the booking and there would be complications involved with that. But the package was sold to us on this assurance that the modification would not be a problem and on this ground alone, the deal was won over the other agents by Trip Sailer. We thank for somehow and almost catering to all our demands, however, the inconveniences faced by us can't be ignored. Most importantly, when the issue with regard to fitting the group of 8 into safaris having maximum capacity of 6 was being discussed, the coordinator we had from day 1, who sold the package to us, went missing by putting his colleague, who were probably not aware of the fact that the modification in booking was done by us was indicated already to the travel agent, thereby leading to even more chaos.
Thanks to the senior agents from Trip Sailer who had to step in and helped sort the issue, but such escalations do affect the fun element of holidays.
I would though not advice against relying on Trip Sailer, but I would recommend the travelers to be cautious with your agents and tread cautiously upon the false promises or high hopes offered.
