Bhutan Honeymoon Packages

Wedged between the mighty Himalayas and the Asian countries of China, India, and Nepal; the Kingdom of Bhutan is a riot of sights, sounds, and sentiment. Voted as the happiest country in Asia, and rightly so, a honeymoon in Bhutan is the perfect way to begin your married life on a happy high.

One can easily reach Bhutan from around the world by air via the Paro International Airport, which is an hour long drive from the capital city of Thimpu. Other cities in Bhutan can easily be accessed through a well-connected network of roads and domestic flights. Travelers can also take a direct bus from Kolkata, if convenient.

Best Time To Visit Bhutan

Bhutan is located in the Himalayas and the variation in altitudes brings about a widely varied climate in Bhutan. The best time to visit Bhutan would be the spring months between March to May. The valley totally comes alive with flowers that bloom and blossom the entire landscape.

  • The clear skies of October make the Himalayas even more interesting and this is the time for trekking when temperatures are particularly cool. During June to August, the low season pertains due to rains which makes trekking difficult.
  • Climate and weather in Bhutan is also influenced by monsoon season in India bringing rain at certain times of the year. Bhutan experiences monsoon from June to September with heavy rains and high humidity.
  • The Autumn month from October to November is generally sunny but snow is visible at higher elevations. Late November to early March is also dry with pre-monsoon showers that usually start in May.

How To Reach Bhutan

The best way to reach Bhutan is by air and the country has only one international airport. The Paro International Airport is located around 7 km from the main city and has connecting flights from various parts of the world.

  • If you wish, you are also free to catch a direct flight from Nepal to Bhutan. This particular journey can be quite exciting for you as you can see some amazing high-rise mountains like Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Kangchenjunga and Makalu from the plane itself.
  • The capital, Thimphu is only an hour away from Paro. Surrounded by mountains, Paro is located at a height of 7,300 feet above the mean sea level. The experience of descending into the Paro valley for landing can actually be a spectacular experience for you as the mountains are so clse by.
  • When traveling from India, cities such as Mumbai and Guwahati offer connecting flights while direct flights to Bhutan are available from Kolkata, the Bagdogra International Airport and New Delhi.
  • Some of the domestic airports in Bhutan are as follows: Gelephu Airport, Yongphulla Airport, and Bathpalathang Airport. The main airline carriers of Bhutan are Druk Air and Bhutan Airlines. Druk Air is known to operate daily flights from Paro to Delhi, Kolkata, Bangkok and Kathmandu.
  • Indians, however, do not actually need a visa to visit Bhutan although a valid Indian passport or a Voter Identity Card and an Entry Permit from Immigration Office of the Royal Government of Bhutan at Phuentsholing is necessary.

Reaching Bhutan By Road (Cars/Buses)

If you love going on road trips, then probably, you are better off not taking flights. India has 3 main border points with Bhutan - Jaigaon – Phuentsholing Border, Gelephu and Samdrup Jongkhar.

  • The Phuentsholing border area is the most preferred option located around 160 km from Bagdogra in West Bengal. You may also hire private taxis from Bagdogra Airport or Siliguri to reach Bhutan. The fare is usually between 2,000 to 3,000 INR. The total journey time can be around 5-6 hours depending on the traffic.
  • For bus travel, you can take one from Kolkata as direct buses from the Esplanade Station in Kolkata will take you directly to Phuentsholing. The journey is around 18 hours from here but if you are in Siliguri, then it is only going to be around 4 hours.

The best time to visit Bhutan for honeymoon is from March to May and September to November, when the weather is pleasant and dry; thus making it ideal for sightseeing. Bhutan honeymoon packages take you to the historically rich cities of Thimphu, Phuntsholing, Punakha, Paro, Jakar, Trashigang, Gelephu, and Samdrup Jongkhar. Dimple's 8 days trip to Bhutan

I had a wonderful experience during my recent trip to Bhutan. The behavior and politeness of the guide, driver, and hotel staff were exceptional. I am truly impressed by the beauty of Bhutan—it's such a beautiful country. GBS Tour and Travel organized my itinerary flawlessly and everything went smoothly. I will definitely recommend them to my friends. Both the guide and driver provided excellent support during our journey and trekking, assisting us every step of the way. Regarding the hotels, while some bedsheets weren't changed, the views from the hotel rooms were breathtaking. Particularly, the view from the Punakha hotel was amazing

I can’t thank enough to Bhutan Inc team for making our Bhutan trip absolutely unforgettable. From the very beginning, our coordinator Miss Sumitra, meticulously handled every detail, ensuring our hotel bookings and itinerary were perfect. Our driver (Mr Sharan Giri) and tour guide (Mr Karma Wangchuk) were the stars of the show - friendly, cheerful, and always going the extra mile to create lasting memories. They accommodated all our requests, including changes to the itinerary, and were incredibly supportive. Our guide's encouragement and assistance were truly invaluable. They even ensured our food preferences were met at all the hotels/restaurants/cafe throughout our stay. BhutanINC truly exceeded our expectations and we can't wait to recommend them to everyone we know. Shoutout to Ms Sumitra and Ms Lalita for being very warm and welcoming to us. Lakshmanan's 10 days trip to Bhutan

Fantastic Trip. Driver, Ugyen was excellent ! Helped us with all our wishes, be it finding the right place to eat or shop or visit (based on our requests). Guide was good. Hotels were good and extremely clean (like in all parts of Bhutan) ! Bhutanese are very nice people , respectful and helping. In fact, we felt pampered during our 10 day tour. We followed the itinerary and made minor modifications based on our pref. If there is one improvement area - I would say Gaikling Guest House, Phobjikha did not have hot water in the bathroom, when we visited. Learn there was a power problem the previous day due to heavy snowfall causing disruption. However, we did have had room heaters, lights and food was available in the restaurant. Staff was very courteous too and apologetic for non-availability of hot water in bathroom. Overall a very nice experience !!
