About Mahabaleshwar

Mahabaleshwar is an exotic and exuberant hill station nestled in the Western Ghats. Situated at an altitude of 1372m Mahabaleshwar offers panoramic views of theplains with the  sloppy peaks and surrounding woods. It is often referred to as queen of hill stations in Maharashtra.
Mahabaleshwar sought its captivating charm through the British who made drastic changes to it and rendered it into a famed hill destination. It was brought into existencein 1829-30. Its royal past is witnessed in the colonial mansions and palatial buildings that remind the visitor about the artistic capacity of the bygone era.
The scenic beauty is extremely mesmerising with the enchanting cascades, exquisite roaring streams and charming peaks along with a healthy climate which attratcsmany visitors. It is a tranquil and serene holiday spot. Mahabaleshwar offers a rejuvenating ambience where one can revel in the delightful vistas of nature.
CONNECTIVITY TO MAHABALESHWAR:
The nearest railhead is at Wathar which is 60km away from Mahabaleshwar. The nearest airport to Mahabaleshwar is Pune which is 120km away. Mahabaleshwar is connected to all the major cities via bus services.
PLACES TO VISIT:
MORARJI CASTLE: worthy to watch spot with British style of architecture and allures the visitors with its glittering appeal. When Gandhiji came to Mahabaleshwarhe is believed to have rested at this spot.
MOUNT MALCOLM: John Malcom was famous general of the British troops. In 1828 he came to Mahabaleshwar and was enchanted by the beauty of the place. In his fond memory thefamous mansion of the colonial era was named after him. It is one of the earliest edifices found at Mahabaleshwar and reflects architectural splendour andcraftsmanship.
PRATAPGARH FORT: is the place where Afzal Khan met his death. Located 900 m above sea level it is situated at a distance of 24km from Mahabaleshwar. The fort if viewed from the distancelooked like a round hill. The wall of the lower fort forms a sort of a crown round the brow. It is a conglomerisation of ponds, chambers and long dark paths.
RAJPURI CAVES: is an ancient religious spot and is surrounded by many water ponds and as per the legends taking bath in these ponds can cure various ailments.
ARTHUR'S SEAT : got its name from Arthur Millet who constructed a house here. The lonely Savitri valley on the left side and not so deep green valley on the right sideis a captivating sight.
BABBINGTON POINT: situated within Mahabaleshwar this enchanting spot is positioned at a height of 1294 m above the sea level. A meandering pathway leads to the beautifullandscape. One can view the exuberant Koyna Valley, Chinaman's waterfall and saddle back from here.
MUMBAI POINT: also known as sunset point and people flock here to get a glimpse of the orange tinge of the sunset. The place has a large open space with a bandstand.
HELEN'S POINT: is the treasure house of enchanting scenaries. One can view the lush green fields and the undulating Krishna river. One can enjoy the reverberation of awaterfall nearby.
CARNAC POINT: named after Sir James Rivett Carnac is a majestic point offering delightful landscapes.
CHINAMANS FALLS: is an attractive tourist spot located 2. 5 km from Mahabaleshwar.
CONNAUGHT PEAK: second highest peak in Mahabaleshwar earlier known as Mount Olympiad. Situated at an altitude of 1400m this peak is famous destination for riders.
ELEPHANT'S HEAD POINT: is one of the best spots in the place and the cliffs that overhang resemble elephants trunk and head.
FALKLAND POINT: The oint provides open space that reflects the beauty of the light woods found in the hilly terrains of Mahabaleshwar.
KATE'S POINT: The view from the point is clear and splendid. Situated at a height of 1290m.
LODWICK POINT: formerly known as Sidney Point and a 25 feet column is erected in the memory of Sir Lodwick and it provides a charismatic view of the surrounding mountain peaks.

happy with Travel Tringel & Shreeji Tours & Travels services. i want mention one point only that if we plan for travel bus, Please confirm bus quality because people suffer problem while we book good bus and come local bus standard quality "Vignesh Bus "

Mahabaleshwar tour was good but travel agent supreme tours and travels provided poor & old a/c bus with no a/c control buttons & bus was in very bad condition. Journey towards mahabaleshwar was horrible but they provided good bus for return journey.
